As his legal troubles press flack, Lewis has tapped Barbara Comstock, the feared and reviled head of Bush’s opposition research team during the 2000 election. Most recently, she was Director of Public Affairs for the Justice Department. That’s one revolving door.
But appropriately enough, she’s another former House appropriations aide who went on to lobby - before she ascended the Republican ranks, she was the appropriations aide for Rep. Frank Wolf (R-VA). So she’ll bring her own special understanding to the job.
