BREAKING: Contractor, CIA Former #3 Indicted
Indictments came down today from the U.S. Attorney for San Diego for Dusty Foggo and Brent Wilkes on counts of conspiracy, honest services wire fraud, and money laundering.
We'll have a copy of the indictment up for you in a moment.
Update: The AP reports:
The CIA’s former No. 3 official and a defense contractor were charged Tuesday with fraud and other offenses in the corruption investigation that sent former Rep. Randy “Duke” Cunningham to prison.The indictment named Kyle “Dusty” Foggo, executive director of the CIA until he resigned in May, and his close friend, San Diego defense contractor Brent Wilkes, both 52, according to two government officials who spoke on condition of anonymity because grand jury proceedings are secret.
In a separate indictment, Wilkes was charged with conspiring to bribe Cunningham in return for government contracts. A man who was described as a co-conspirator in Cunningham’s 2005 plea agreement, John T. Michael, was also charged.

Any mention of Thomas Kontogiannis and his nephew? Or is it just Foggo and Wilkes for now?

I bet the #3 guy at the CIA has a lot of stuff he could use as leverage against the Bush Regime. He could actually ensnare the old teary guy Bush Senior himself. Certainly Cheney and Rumsfeld, primo war profiteers . Maybe new guy Gates (Iran Contra), the list goes on.

Well they can squash this indictment but not the aftermath. Too bad the Dems are so damn slow they cannot get the attorneys re-appointed or prevent their ouster before a more complaint attorney is installed by the same Bush regime.

House Democratic Caucus Chairman Rahm Emanuel (Ill.) has called for Lam to continue her cases against Wilkes, Foggo and others reportedly ensnared in the probe, including former House Appropriations Chairman Jerry Lewis (R-Calif.), via a special prosecutor appointment.
“We will demand answers and we will not allow this issue to go away,” Emanuel spokesman Nick Papas said yesterday.
At least they SAY they will keep her on it - I want to see how that plays out.

Oh boy, ANOTHER RepubliCON goes down and he's number 3 in the CIA. Another Bush administration first. Now the number 1 & 2 also need the same level of scrutiny.
It's just hard to think of so many Republican being criminals and running our country. May they be out of office for the next 100 years.
You got to wonder why Wilks doesn't weigh 500 pounds. Either that or he always had a bottle of wine to go when he left.
