GOP Rep: Think of My Children
Rep. Gary Miller [R-CA] grew up poor. Even though he's now worth more than $13 million, he says he's still worried about his family's financial security.So, while federal authorities investigate some of his real estate transactions, he says he'll keep on making deals...
"Some people are arguing I shouldn't have the opportunity to make an investment that every other American citizen has an opportunity to make," he said. "I've got kids, I've got grandkids, and it'd be nice, when I get ready to go, when they're older, if I can help them."
Miller, 58, who makes $165,200 as a congressman, is being scrutinized for the millions he made selling properties to two Southern California communities outside his district. FBI agents have interviewed officials in both towns.

No Rep. Miller....and the rest of the corrupt bastards...they even have their own Corrupt Bastards Club here in Alaska consisting of elected officials....think of OUR children. The ones that are going to have to deal with the aftermath of the crap the elected ilk have bestowed upon them in the pursuit of power and money for themselves personally instead of what is for the good country as a whole.
I can count the politcians I feel are really worried about the United States of America on one hand.

As I recall, those occupying the lowest rings of The Inferno with the worst punishments were the corrupt politicians and corrupt public officials. I think Dante was on to something.
This bozo was my congressman until I moved 5 years ago. Sad that Howard Dean chose not to run anyone against him.

What could possibly make Miller different from (nearly) every other American citizen? What does this difference allow Miller access to that (nearly) every other American citizen can't access? What advantages might Miller have over (nearly) every other American citizen regarding the ability to enrich oneself? Why would any American citizen possibly wish to deprive Miller of such advantages?
Hmm.... HHHMMMMmmmmm..... I haven't the foggiest; Maybe we can ask the audience to help us.

One would think that his worrisome relationship to his personal financial condition would create a more understanding and enlightened empathy for the folk in his district . . . His voting record shows the opposite though . . . Strange.

The kids will just be another generation like him, foreclosing on the future of the have-nots to justify their greed by calling it a right and the American way. Already has more money than 1/4th of the American people will see in a lifetime. And I thought our representatives were dedicated to serving us. We pay too much salary...Most people would pay us to have those kinds of connections and insider info. Perhaps he considers his salary a "legal" bribe. (Interesting-the code word for this post is 'snake'..ha)
