Do the math: 1979- 6 (years to get a masters) = 1973, year she would have graduated from high school, at about 18 years old. 1973-18= 1955,or year she was born, making her 52, or something near that.

I think there is a naive comfort for critics of this administration to write off the transgressions to underqualified "youngsters." That is not true, most are boomers, and they certainly knew exactly what they were doing.

I am a "middle-aged" female, I've been playing online games since 1994, (I lasted about 3 minutes in Second Life because the UI is so bad I couldn't figure out how to move) and I have many many male friends younger than I am, from my playing and even some amateur game development projects. I talk to them on voice chat, and the conversation sometimes goes to real world issues. If there were a political discussion I might well end up sending them some article of interest or such. I've certainly exchanged things like CD's and books.

I don't think the woman should be confounding her gaming with her job, oh please, but let's not get all "ooooh, how STRANGE it is that an 'older' woman talks to younger men."

It's the internets, bud. Times have changed. People aren't stuck in ruts about age and gender like they used to be, thank God. Some of the best and most trusted friends I have, people I have known for over a decade now, I made through online RPG games.

This sounds a bit like a simple intelligence-field trick. A brief description:

The significant recipients of these emails are NOT the people who obviously received them. The email accounts, or the computers of their owners, have been compromised by either hacking or simply giving out passwords.

The real owner of the email account / FTP server / instant-messenger account / whathaveyou doesn't even need to know you don't really care about them reading. In fact it plays to your advantage if the apparent recipient believes s/he was the rightful recipient of the information.

Tom Friedman--is that you?

i am afraid that we really must pass and implement a law which provide for hanging persons such as this and those others who we have found out about lately. i have never been an advocate of the death penaly but i really don't believe we have any other choice.

In rereading the IG's report (pdf page 19) the following passage struck me:

"The figures were a mistake and very embarrassing, but they didn't make a difference in the outcome of the review."

Sounds like Gonzo's we did it the wrong way but still got it right!
