You know, the Shalala/Dole Walter Reed Commission sure seems like small potatoes this morning. Seems awfully convenient for Bush to be going on a Latin American tour right about now.

Sen. Graham has pulled a Lieberman. In his most polite drawl, he suggested that the attorneys had been in their jobs a long time. He deliberately added that those who had problems with their performance - emphasizing problems - waited a long time to bring them up - only quietly acknowledging that "performance problems" might have been alleged problems.
Mr. Graham's point was to obtain admissions that these lawyers served at the whim of the president, that they it was impolite to question their dismissals, and that now it was the turn of other young Republican lawyers to come to the feeding trough.
I'll respond only to his implication that the job of US Attorneys was to further the resumes of inexperienced lawyers.
These are senior, experienced posts requiring skills in managing hundreds of ambitious people, complex cases, and arcane laws and rules of evidence and procedure. These are not jobs for the legal equivalent of medical interns or residents. They are for heart surgeons. They defend federal civil rights and prosecute all federal crimes in their districts.
Those who get and perform well in these jobs may be politically ambitious, but they are all experienced, bright, talented and dedicated lawyers. Unlike, say, Mr. Griffin in Arkansas. Most become or have already been law firm partners, corporate general counsels, or judges.
Mr. Spectre (sp), did an equally egregious job defending the indefensible.

Has anyone ever seen Leslie Jordan (Will and Grace, Southern Baptist Sissies, Boston Legal) and Lindsey Graham in the same room? Are we sure that Graham is not nefarious Republican alter ego of the blithely gay 4'11'' Jordan?

Somebody should OUT Sen. Graham. He's as gay as he can be. I mean the guy is close to 50 and has never been married. A gay friend of ours says his "gaydar" goes off the chart when he sees Lindsey Graham on TV. He always told us Mark Foley was a gay man and low and behold, he is not just a gay man but a pedophile RepubliCON.
These people should not be demonizing gay people when so many of their own are in fact gay but fast in the closet.
The citizen of New Mexico should have been glad to have a man with such interigty as Mr. Iglesias. You should recall Mr. Dominici and Ms. Wilson for being total idiots.

I wonder if Graham is gay. Nothing wrong with it, but if he is gay he should admit it. I keep getting the vague impression he is gay and is in denial.
He was in the Air Force. Kinda difficult to hide your gayness in the military. How did he do it?
