Nev Gov Lawyers Up
Nevada Gov. Jim Gibbons (R) has nabbed Abbe Lowell, best known as Jack Abramoff's lawyer, The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
The Wall Street Journal reported last month that there was a federal investigation of Gibbons' relationship with scandal veteran and software executive Warren Trepp. Our rundown of the muck is here.

Funny, just earlier this week he was telling the local paper reporter that he was using his long time friend, the local attorney, the one he used in his MizzyGate sexual assault attorney, Don Campbell.

Also means he cantalk indirectly to abramoff to make deals and vice versa, under privelege. Interesting.

Note that Nevada's U.S. Attorney was among those purged by the DOJ and asked to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
I guess the governor is just being extra cautious.

Warren Trepp is a well known character at Lake Tahoe. He used to eat at a friend's restaurant on the Lake and ask to close off a section of the restaurant so he could smoke cigars. Smoking is not allowed in CA restaurants, but he tipped so well, the waiters always accomodated his request. He liked to toss around money to get his way.

Nevada's US Attorney also had asked the FBI to investigate Nevada Congressman Jon Porter (R)immediatley before last Falls general election.
Coincidence?
Also US Attorney office was allegedly involved in the raid on the house of Trepp's ex-partner, Dennis Montgomery, who is suing Trepp. Gibbons was a Republican Congressman just last year.

Trepp just hired big time white collar attorney, Reid H. Weingarten. Oh, oh....
