Feeney: Jack Who?
Congrats to Rep. Tom Feeney (R-FL) for issuing the boldest denial of the Jack Abramoff scandal.
A lot of lawmakers have said they never met Abramoff, or they never met him in their office, or when they met him, they didn't like him, or they wouldn't recognize him if they saw him, etc. But Feeney has gone above and beyond:
Rep. Tom Feeney (R-Fla.) says he is not worried that the Justice Department is looking into his ties to disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff, and is voluntarily cooperating with the investigation.......Feeney denied having any kind of relationship with Abramoff.
“There’s no relationship,” he said flatly.
Feeney, remember, was one of seven people Abramoff took on a golf junket to Scotland in 2003. He flew over on a private jet. He played golf with Abramoff twice a day there.
Now, even though a sham charity covered the cost of Feeney's trip, Abramoff was not someone who, when it came to lawmakers, was interested in charity. Consider some of the others who joined Abramoff on his junkets: ex-Rep. Bob Ney (jail), Mark Zachares (pled guilty), Neil Volz (pled guilty), David Safavian (convicted), ex-Rep. Tom DeLay (under investigation), etc., etc.
Feeney, no doubt, was not an exception. Here's McClatchy on Abramoff's strenuous efforts to cooperate with prosecutors:
"He's talking so much he doesn't have time to eat," one lawyer involved in the matter quipped, insisting upon anonymity because the investigation is ongoing. "Everybody who had business dealings with the guy should be nervous."...Feeney is among those who might be nervous over the ex-lobbyist's chatter, said the knowledgeable lawyer.

BradBlog, the sometimes brilliant, sometimes tinfoil hat election theft blog, has idenified Feeny with alleged election-theft software in Florida. Any updates on the validity (or not) of those charges? Any possibility that investigation of Abramoff-Feeny might reveal the single grand unified theory of all Republican criminality?

CLINT CURTIS TESTIFED UNDER OATH BEFORE CONYERS AND HAS PASSED LIE DETECTOR TEST. THERES MORE:
Okay, for newbies here, wondering who the these Ray Lemme and Clint Curtis guys are in the first place...
Lemme was the investigator from the Inspector General's office at the Florida Department of Transportation who turned up dead in a Valdosta, GA motel room just weeks after allegedly telling Clint Curtis that his investigation into Curtis' claims went "all the way to the top."
The photos taken at the scene by the cops didn't exist, according to the police report, until they turned up on the Internets after some jerk reported the whole story (we are that jerk) --- causing the Valdosta Police to re-open the case, before swiftly shutting it back down again for equally mysterious reasons. You can catch up on that story here, as we broke those new details in the Lemme case in early 2005.
Clint Curtis (for those who don't know) is the software programmer who has claimed in a sworn affidavit and video-taped testimony before members of the U.S. House Judiciary Committee that Rep. Tom Feeney asked him to create vote-rigging software when they both worked at a Florida software firm. At the time, Feeney was the Speaker of the Florida House and the firm's lobbyist; he is also known for being Jeb Bush's former running mate. Now he's a member of the U.S. House and sits on the Judiciary Committee himself. (When he's not taking golf junkets to Scotland with Jack Abramoff).
Curtis has since passed a polygraph test in regard to these charges (unlike Feeney)

I believe one of the rules when caught having an affair is deny deny deny. Apparently the same applies when it comes to taking bribes from convicted lobbyist.
And you're right invisible poster. Those are Romney crazy eyes. Check out t-bogg from 2 days ago to see what I mean

"There (is) no relationship."
That rings a bell, it's the familiar depends-on-the-meaning-of-'is' argument.
If interpreted favorably as intended, it doesn't rule out "There WAS a relationship."

Dear Adolf:
With votes gone missing in subsequent Florida elections and hanky panky with investigations of the murder of Lemme just how long are you going to keep drinking republican kool-aid?
This doesn't rest on the credibiliity of just one person.
The Repugs keep trying to pile implausible explanation after implausible explanation.
You can fool all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time ...
Enough said.

Why did they think anyone was going to believe a charity paid for Feeney et al to fly in a private jet to a ritzy golf resort overseas? What charity has nothing better to do with its money than send congressmen, staffers, and lobbyists golfing? If Feeney and the rest really believed this, they're too stupid to be in office -- or breathe on their own. I doubt they're that stupid. Maybe they accepted a legal-sounding excuse and opted not to ask questions. However, I have to guess they assumed no one would ever ask, and we would be too stupid to realize their little trip isn't typical charitable activity.
Or maybe they just know that little about charity. These are greedy crooks after all.

In the Google video cited above by ModMom, you should see Clinton Curtis finger Tom Freeny for approaching him and requesting an undetectable computer program to flip Florida's vote in 2000 to GOP candidates.
Curtis made his allegation before a panel of minority members of the House Judiciary Committee, chaired by Rep. John Conyers, convened in Columbus, Ohio to investigate vote suppression in the 2004 elections--charges the DoJ decided not to investigate, though the statistical demonstration of fraud was unimpeachable.
If I recall, Curtis also told Conyer's panel that Freeny was a lobbyist for a Florida-based Chinese-owned computer company fined for selling secret military technology to the Chinese.
Though I have seen nothing suggesting Abramoff had a role in either the computer program of techno sale to China, I wager the former supperlobbyist wasn't far away from the action.
Visualize for a moment this possible piece of poetic justice:
After the House Judiciary Committee issues Freeny a subpoena to testify before his own committee and asked by Conyers, under oath, about approaching Curtis just before the 2000 elections about writing the vote-flipping program.
Oh, my, my...

The so-called charity that paid for the Scotland golfing trip was Amy Ridenour's National Center For Public Policy Research. Visit the NCPPR website (link below) where Amy Ridenour is still spewing her corporate-financed garbage 24/7.
Why is Amy Ridenour and the NCPPR still in business? More importantly, why isn't Amy Ridenour in prison?
Amy Ridneour knowingly laundered millions of dollars for Jack Abramoff and she lied to the Senate Indian Affairs Committee about not knowing that she was laundering money for Abramoff.
Look at the 990s filed by the NCPPR, available online at the Foundation Center's 990 Finder. iN 2003, the NCPPR paid $1.3 million in consulting fees to Kaygold, LLC, a corporation owned by Jack Abramoff. That $1.3 million consulting fee represented 20% of Amy Ridenour's revenue in 2003.
The NCPPR also made a $250k grant to Jack Abramoff's phony Capital Athletic Foundation in 2003. Ms. Ridenour is required by the IRS to maintain documentation as to why the $250k grant was made and then follow up to ensure that the money was properly spent according to the terms of the grant.
Perhaps Ms. Ridenour can tell us why she paid $1.3 million in consulting fees to Kaygold LLC and perhaps Ms. Ridenour can provide us with the documentation to support the $250k grant to the Capital Athletic Foundation.
Or perhaps Ms. Ridenour would be forced to admit that she knew she was laundering money for Jack Abramoff. If that is the case, the NCPPR should be stripped of its tax-exempt status for engaging in fraud.
From the NCPPR mission statement:
"We believe that the principles of a free market, individual liberty and personal responsibility provide the greatest hope for meeting the challenges facing America in the 21st century."
Isn't it time that Amy Ridneour took personal responsibility for knowingly engaging in criminal acitivity?
From what I have read, Amy Ridenour took a cut of the money she laundered for Jack Abramoff. If that is true, Amy Ridneour certainly was not just doing her good friend and fellow NCPPR board member, Jack Abramoff, a favor, was she?
No, Amy Ridenour would have profited from her money laundering activity and the NCPPR would be classified as a criminal enterprise.
Money laundering and lying to Congress are serious crimes but the DOJ is not even bothering to investigate Amy Ridenour as far as I know.
Amy Ridenour is another example of how the laws in this country don't apply to everyone. Want to launder money for fun and profit? Become a GOP big shot and your worries are over.
Ask Amy Ridenour how it works in Washington DC. You can reach her at 202-371-1400.

If anyone entertains the notion that Amy Ridenour made a one-time mistake in 2003, think again. The National Center For Public Policy Research made a $450k grant to Jack Abramoff's phony Capital Athletic Foundation in 2002.

Re Amy Ridenour's Congressional testimony (link below) - Ridenour told the Senate Indian Affairs Committee that she thought KayGold LLC was owned by Michael Scanlon. But in the Center's 2003 990, Ridenour listed Kaygold LLC's address as 800 Connecticut Ave. NW, #500, Wash., DC 20006.
That is Greenberg Traurig's address where Jack Abramoff was working at the time.
Of course, Amy Ridenour could have checked Lexis-Nexis and found out that Kaygold LLC's registered address was 812 Edelbut Dr., Silver Spring, MD, Abramoff's home address and that Jack Abramoff is the only officer listed.
Gee, Amy, did you have a signed contract with Kaygold LLC for $1.3 million in consulting services?

Jack Abramoff? Never heard of him. And if I had heard of him I'd never have met him. And even if I had met him I certainly wouldn't have played golf with him. And if I'd played golf it certainly wouldn't have been in Scotland. And if I'd gone to Scotland I wouldn't have flown on his private jet.

Feeney should be very nervious, He is listed in Zachares indictiment as "Congressman #3". Zachares indictment mentions that the $5,643 that was on the disclosure form was made up by Abramoff and kept secret by everyone at the 2003 golf outing. He was also involved in the Korean American society outfit that was tied to Alexander Strategy Group.
The question I have is that did he go to the Military Tattoo or not? Much like Bob Ney was lying his ass off about the reason for going to St. Andrews in 2002. Feeney is in the sight of the Feds...

I know why Feeney is not worried about his deals with Abramoff. Alberto Gonzalez and Alice Fisher have agreed not to investigate the murder of Konstantino "Gus" Boulis. Keywordds: Anthony "Big Tony" Moscatiello, Adam Kidan

Thanks, Carol. I keep forgetting about Abramoff and the Sun Cruz business although I did some research into the story last year. One of the people who seems to have escaped public scrutiny altogether is Sun Cruz partner, Ben Waldman, another GOP big shot.
The story that has been released to the press about Sun Cruz is preposterous. The lenders who loaned $20 million to Adam Kidan knew Kidan didn't have any money when they made the "Loan."
The timing of the Sun Cruz sale was suspicous in itself. IIRC, it was in the middle of the 2000 campaign. A floating casino - what better way to launder illegal campaign contributions.
I remember the Boulis murder very well because I was in south Florida when he got hit and the story caught my attention. I think I will dig out my notes and see if I missed something.
Wayne - Adam Kidan's mob connections is one of the most underreported aspects of the Sun Cruz story. Kidan was in the bagel business with someone whose name never made the papers. Carce, maybe?
"Big Tony" had been cooperating with the Feds for years yet it took how long for anyone to put Moscatiello and Kidan together in the Boulis murder?
BTW, Kidan went into the laundromat business after he left Sun Cruz.
The Sun Cruz story is a favorite of mine!

Oops! I was way off on the name. It is Michael Cavallo. I don't know if Cavallo is tied to the Gambino or any other mob family but 1993 was around the time that Kidan supposedly met Moscatiello.
This case sure took a long time to settle.

Feeney was the major player in the FL legislature before he was elected to the US House. He was instrumental in redrawing the federal election districts, which by the way, he conveniently created his own previously nonexistent district. I should know, he's my representative. His district is like a twisting snake wiggling throughout east central FL -- for literally a hundred miles -- squeezing as many Repubs as he can get. Feeney still has many contacts in the FL legislature -- in some cases much better than Jeb ever had.

I have evidence that Thomas Feeney III solicited and accepted and Sprint Next Political Action Committee offered and paid over more than three years bribes paid quid pro quo for ex parte contacts to federal and state court judges for the purpose to intimidate these judges to influence the outcome of litigation - in particular, get this - to defeat a derivative shareholder suit that attempts to recover $18 million FOR THE BENEFIT OF SPRINT NEXTEL from the insurer of the Board of Directors, former members of which allowed for over five years slamming , i.e. mail and wire fraud, falsely claiming that a telecom ustomer had authorized it to close the account with the competitor and switch it to Sprint.
Feeney was not the only one paid, Sprint PAC also offerend and paid to F. James Sensenbrenner, who solicited and accepted the bribes paid for to act in his official capazity to intimidate the judges.
