Giuliani to Enter New Era of Background Checks
Poor Rudy. All he did was choose one crooked guy to run New York City's police force (OK, OK, and then to run the Department of Homeland Security... well, and he also chose Kerik to be his business partner, but that's it), and people just won't let it go.
From The New York Times:
Buffeted once again by bad news about his disgraced former police commissioner [Bernard Kerik], Rudolph W. Giuliani said Saturday that he should have looked more closely into the commissioner’s background and acknowledged that it may cause voters to question his judgment....“I think I should have done a better job of investigating him, vetting him, however you want to describe that,” Mr. Giuliani said in his first extended public comments on the latest revelations about Mr. Kerik. “It’s my responsibility, and I’ve learned from it,” he said, adding, “I’ll make sure that I do a much better job of checking into people in the future.”
That would ring hollow coming from anyone. But coming from a former U.S. attorney, it sounds profoundly dishonest.
The Washington Post reported yesterday that -- in addition to pleading guilty last year to accepting illegal gifts from a mobbed-up contractor -- Kerik is likely to be charged with several felonies (tax evasion, filing false information to the government, and conspiracy to commit wiretapping) by federal prosecutors. It's not clear if this federal investigation is the same one that was reported to focus on the hundreds of thousands of dollars that disappeared from a nonprofit affiliated with New York City's Department of Corrections when Kerik headed the agency. It's hard to keep track, you know.

Must be a vast, left-wing conspiracy!!!

WINGNUT POLITICAL OPERATIVE IN THE DOJ! (better than a multiple felon in charge of Homeland security.. but close)
The Justice Department officials who were selected to be interviewed hit merely the tip of this iceberg. It is extremely important that the House and Senate Judiciary Committee's interview John Nowacki, Principal Deputy Director as well as the Acting Counsel to the Director in the Executive Office of the Justice Department, in order to establish the links between the Justice Department officials, the US Attorney's in the field, and the political operatives who helped remove the targeted US Attorney's. I have gathered and organized every document released so far from the Justice Department relating to John Nowacki as well as background information on his relationship with the Federalist Society. You will be shocked at how many key pieces of information he gives to Paul McNulty, William Moschella, Michael Elston, William Mercer, Monica Goodling, and former employees Michael Battle and Kyle Sampson.
This story on John Nowacki, including updates, can be found at: http://misterapologist.blogspot.com/

When is someone going to ask Mayor Giuliani if he knew his perverted pig police commissioner, Bernard Kerik, was screwing two different women after 9/11 in an apartment with a view of Ground Zero when he wasn't busy writing his book and taking a bow in the media for being a fake 9/11 hero?
I can just imagine the scenario. Bernie and Judith Regan, Fox book publisher, enjoy a couple of cocktails and get turned on watching the NYFD dig for corpses. Sickos.
Hey, I'm sure Mayor Giuliani was okay with Bernie's bad behavior but let's get him to say so.
Someone should confirm the identity of "Other Girl" of the "Other Girl" with Jimmy Breslin. In his famous 10/19/00 Newsday column, "Mayor's Drivers Have No Easy Pass" (linked below), Breslin wrote about Hanover, Nathan and another one of the mayor's girlfriends being driven to the same NY Yankees game by the NYPD.
Breslin wrote that the cops had nicknamed Guiliani's second girlfriend as "Other Girl." Some people assumed that Breslin meant Chrystine Lategeno, Giuliani's press liaison but I'm not so sure.
I adore Jimmy Breslin!
"...If this seems to be a lot of cars and opportunities for confusion, be advised that it is a precise count of the pool of cars and people required to keep these Tobacco Road romances of Giuliani's in motion, all of it on your money, thousands and thousands of dollars for one baseball game...."

Wait until the Evangelicals hear about Mayor Giuliani boosting attendance at a pornographic art exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum and why.
The Evangelicals will fall off their chairs when they read about who Mayor Giuliani appointed to his Public Morals Board and how the funding was spent.
I really, really hope Rudy Giuliani gets the nod. We will have a blast!

I'm going to dig out my notes on the Giuliani administration. There was a court case brought by an insurance company against a NYC contractor who had been banned by Alan Hevesi, NYC comptroller, from doing business with the city for 5 years for fraud.
The contractor, one of the Carchiettas, just changed the name of his company and was awarded a contract to build schools by oddly enough, the city environmental authority.
That's the basic outline but I don't have the details at my fingertips at the moment.
Another avenue worth investigating is where the NYC Venture Fund invested money and how much money it lost.
A lot of people forget the kind of crap that was going on during the stock market boom of the '90s. I'm one of those people who hink Governor Christie Todd Whitman's administation stole something like $2 billion out of the state pension fund by pretending to "speculate" in the stock market.
To this day, I don't think anyone in the press ever questioned Charles A. Gargano about whether he made a pile of money after the NYS economic fund "invested" in Intelli-Check before it went public. Gargano is notorious for his shady investments in penny stock companies.
One of the inside traders in the Intelli-Check who made something like $1.5 million was the owner of a big NJ mailing house. My theory is that he was let in on the Intelli-Check IPO because he did mass mailings for a GOP election under the table.
Oops! I am rambling on again.

Mrs. P
Regarding the funny biz going on in the markets. Recall that building 7, you know, the third building that collapsed straight down in to it's own footprint on September 11, housed the SEC which was conducting thousands of dot.com investigations.
Building 7 also just happend to be where Rudy set up his Emergency Operations Center for citywide disasters. Bad place to do that, eh?
Question for Rudy...how is it that concrete and steel structures fall directly into their own footprint?
I suppose that's not a question for common sense.

How about Judith Nathan Giuliani, Managing Director of Changing Our World, Inc., a national fundraising and philanthropic services company headquartered in New York?
3/2/01 PR Newswire press release. "Changing Our World Names Health Care Expert Judith S. Nathan Managing Director":
"Changing Our World Inc., the leading full-service philanthropic services company in the United States offering tailored fundraising, philanthropy and integrated technology solutions, has announced the appointment of Judith S. Nathan as a managing director..."
Judith Nathan Giuliani was being paid to raise money for charities after 9/11 and we all know how much money was being flung at charities in the name of 9/11.
Gee, do you think Judith Nathan Giuliani leveraged her role as Mayor Giuliani's sweetheart after 9/11 to raise money for the organizations represented by her company?
Let's ask Mrs. Giuliani if she got a big raise and a bonus in 2001. Or did Mrs. Giuliani get a cut of Changing Our World Inc.'s profits that year?
If the Washington DC establishment thought the Clintons were tacky, they ain't seen nothing yet.

WaPo:
"In some cases, Giuliani and Kerik simultaneously advised a private company and the federal agency whose actions could affect it. Giuliani's firm, for instance, was hired by Purdue Pharma to help figure out how to keep sales of its popular painkiller OxyContin from being restricted by the government; street dealers were crushing and converting it into a powerful narcotic offering an instant high. Kerik was personally named to oversee security improvements at a New Jersey manufacturing plant.
At the same time, the Justice Department paid Giuliani-Kerik $1.1 million to conduct a management review of the organized-crime drug task force, whose responsibilities included stemming illegal use of OxyContin."
I'd sure like to read what the taxpayers got from Giuliani-Kerik for their millon bucks.

Now that is established that Bernie baby is a crook, who is going to investigate why Bernie bought some $20 off million worth of weapons from a Lebanese company when he was in Iraq supposedly training the Iraqi police force?

Craig Gordon in Newsday on the "Giuliani weirdness factor."
" .. In 2001, Giuliani authorized his lawyer to reveal that prostate cancer treatment had left him impotent - and therefore unable to have sexual relations with Nathan. In recent interviews, Nathan has spoken suggestively about their relationship, calling him the "Energizer Bunny" and posing in a deep kiss with him..."
Judith, trust me. This is more than anyone but a Democratic operative wants to know.

Since 1999, Tim Brown, Giuliani campaign aide and executive director of the non-existent Firefighters For Rudy, has operated a commercial website, thebravest.com (link below), which broadcasts FDNY live fire radio.
Does Brown pay a licensing fee to the FDNY or can anyone set up a website and broadcast FDNY radio calls?
Just asking.

If Rudy is dragged into this court case, as it appears, I wonder if a saavy lawyer might argue that, given the "policization" of the Justice Department under GWB43, it's no wonder that the NY USA has gone after a "non-loyal" Bushie. But why isn't Rudy a "loyal bushie" anymore?

The loyal Bushies might still be ticked off that Giuliani pushed Kerik for the DHS nomination.
The president and his administration looked fools after the NY papers got done ripping Bernie to shreds.
Pyabacks are a bitch.

Take a look at the business Giuliani was in - providing security consulting advice.
In other words if the advice he was offering was worth diddly squat he would have been conducting background checks on all staff in trusted positions as a matter of course.

Klyde, I think the GOP powers that be have already decided that Rudy Giuliani is not going to be their candidate.
The fact that the DOJ is preparing to file charges against Bernie for lying on his DHS application more two year ago has political hatchet job written all over it.
My guess is once Giuliani drops out of the race, the DOJ will lighten up on Kerik.
I'd like to know if the morons in the Bush administration who were supposed to vet Bernie before Bush nominated him still have their jobs.
