While I'm at it, I have to echo my admiration for Rep. Waxman. Since the 1994 takeover of Congress, the Republicans and their talk-show talking, bought-and-paid-for columnist buddies have tried to paint Waxman as a California kook. I hope before the next Congress comes in he'll shove that down their throats and make 'em like it.

I didn't know the numbers until his remarks of yesterday, but I am glad to finally know that the GOP issues 1,052 subpoenas in six years of Clinton and five in six years of W. He did a public service by quantifying that information for us.

They HAVE to stonewall. It's a necessity. The amazing breadth of the conspiracy would be revealed if they didn't stonewall. And given the inter-connectedness of the scandals and the players, even a little glimpse into the criminal conspiracy would blow the whole thing apart. THEY CAN'T DO IT. Tenet & the CIA- what's absolutely ridiculous is the allegation before the Iraq war that Saddam was about to get nuke weapons-any idiot, let alone CIA people, let alone scientists, let alone congress members let alone et al , ad nauseum would know that it takes HUGE facilities to make nuke weapons-look at the size of the facilities in Iran and N. Also any idiot would have known that we needed U.S. troops to seal all Iraq armories & weapons dumps immediately (the source now of all the IED bombs, for one thing)-we didn't because "we didn't have the troops"-which was RUMSFELD'S "convenient" decision-overidng the advice of basically everyone at the top in the pentagon.
