Mucky Oil Co. Bought for $365 Million
It's a good time to get a deal on a company when the top two executives just pled guilty to federal bribery charges, apparently.
CH2M Hill, a Colorado-based corporation that sells infrastructure and environmental cleanup services, is in the midst of acquiring Veco for $365 million. The Anchorage Daily News reported that talks to buy out Veco started within a week of chief executive Bill Allen and vice president Rick Smith pleading guilty to federal bribery and conspiracy charges.

CH2M Hill was one of the firms most closely tied to the administration of George Bush. Bush in fact appointed a CH2M Hill senior vice president to be undersecretary of Energy, at the time the administration was turning over the nation's energy planning to scandal- ridden Enron.
CH@M Hill was charged with excessively marking up costs, charging for unauthorized work and double billing expenses on a project for Los Angeles Department of Water and Power,
and the company is being charged with fraud in a Katrina/Fema no-bid contrract.
Sounds as if CH2M Hill is doing a big favor in buying Vesco...wonder who is behind it?

And, btw, CH#M Hill, friend of Bush and Co, is building the " remodeled and expanded military base" in South Korea. Project due date 2012.
Hmmm..if Bush is gone by 2009, do ya think they will stop building the base?
And the Baghdad Embassy..
and all those other military bases in the Middle East...

CH2M Hill has long history of cozying up to repug administrations by screwing ordinary citizens. Back in the mid-'80s, CH2M Hill was hired by the indescribably corrupt Reagan EPA to issue a report declaring Love Canal "habitable."
Got paid several million dollars to ensure that neighbors of the contaminated neighborhood would never be able to sell their homes, never be able to leave, never be able to sue.
And you should have seen the looks of arrogant, ruthless greed on the faces of the staff CH2M Hill sent to "public meetings" to pacify the low-income families who looked to the government to protect them from the depredations of corporations like Occidental Chemical.
CH2M Hill is nothing more than a bunch of leg-breakers for the criminal gang that is smirky's maladministration.
