National Guard units in over thirty states have said that they now have 60% or less of their authorized equipment, as large portions of supplies have been sent to Iraq and Afghanistan. (USA TODAY)

Hmong Americans are protesting the arrest of Vang Pao, a military leader during the Vietnam War and head of the CIA-backed Secret Army. Pao was arrested last week for conspiring to overthrow the Laotian government. (NY Times)
