Petraeus Punts on How Long We'll Stay in Iraq
Rep Vic Snyder (D-AK) took a look at Gen. Petraeus' plan for drawing down troops and had a question: how long will we ultimately be in Iraq? Petraeus didn't answer.
Notice that over some unspecified period of time, Petraeus envisions drawing down to five U.S. brigades, for strategic and operational "overwatch" purposes, which would mean between 20,000 and 25,000 troops remaining in the country. In fairness, this is a question for President Bush -- more realistically, his successor -- but getting an answer is still critical.

can't someone call rep. cooper of tennessee when he asks of the state of the war: "who could have predicted this in 2003?"
please?

Nice work as usual. However, the abbreviation for Arkansas is "AR" not "AK." Vic Snyder is most certainly not crooked enough to be from Alaska!

Yeah, thanks, Tom Spencer, for getting the 'state' corrected. I was wondering if Young had resigned and quietly been replaced.

We will remove enough troops to get as many RepubliCONs reelected as possible. Look for the summer of 08 to see a large draw down of US troops. RepubliCONs ALWAYS put party over country. That's why they are unAmerican.
