Text of Senate Intel Cmte's Surveillance Bill

The Senate intelligence committee's surveillance bill is hot off the presses, and our crack team of overworked TPMm interns is hard at work adding it to our Document Collection.

You can read the bill here and use the comment thread to highlight what you think is notable.

It just gags me that the launch of these intrusive and illegal searches into any of us are dependent only on the thinnest predicate of "proof."

In short, the goddamn "reasonable belief" standard is still in the bill.

Go Sen. Dodd! Halt this thing in its filthy tracks and shame Reid, Feingold and Rockefeller in the bargain.

Pages 45-46 still contain the retroactive amnesty for the telecons.

Hear that sucking sound? Thats the 4th Amendment going down the drain.

Look in the upper right hand corner this page. They have a very small link to the page where you can contribute.

I just randomly clicked on page 53 and found some interesting items nullifying any state from being able to investigate any 'alleged' surveillance whatsoever. So did AT&T et al. simply pen this with the requisite Cunningham-style instructions for the 'lawmakers' to sign here and say this, into that camera?

Megisi,

Why are you "shaming" Sen. Russ Feingold from Wisconsin? He is standing with Senator Dodd on this issue. In fact, if memory serves me correctly was the only Senator to intially vote against the Patriot Act.

Did you confuse Senator Feingold with Sen. Dianne Feinstein from California?
