Judge Boots Kerik's Lawyer from Case

Boy, times are bad for Rudy's crew. Just as Giuliani is hunkering down for his electoral Alamo in Florida, Bernie Kerik got knocked down yesterday before even getting a chance to get his gloves on.

The judge disqualified his lawyer from the case because he'd been present when Kerik had given several false statements to his lawyers, which were then transmitted to the Bronx district attorney's office. This was a "severe" conflict of interest, the judge ruled.

So now Kerik has to get himself a new lawyer. The only good news for him is that, with Giuliani's candidacy annihilated, there's sure to be less media scrutiny when he does finally go to trial.

Not only less media scrutiny; he must know some lawyers on Rudy's campaign staff -- they'll be looking for paying work real soon now.

I love that pic! It looks like Rudy is doing dirty, dirty things to Bernie and Bernie likes it!!

kimberly, uh..?

Yea, let Rudy defend this filthy human being

Indictment by photo, ouch.

You know I actually thought it gracious and politically smart that John McCain had something nice to say to Rudy after the NYT aditorial was read to Rudy at the debate. There is of course a 'kicking somebody when he is down' response to even Rudy.

I'm wondering if Rudy will be damaged goods similar to other political debris from this poorly run election campaign?

I mean say what you want, but Biden, Hunter, and Thompson got out graciously where they are not market branded as losers.

I hope that some Sr. staffer is working on a press statement that will be realistic and gracious for Giuliani.

I never could connect to Giuliani or felt that he could represent that segment of America that didn't have red light districts, didn't do bidda-bing, or where taxis were non-existent. I mean NYC is a wonderful place to visit, but there are those of us, who wouldn't want to live there.

It is almost as unfair to Rudy to have had the right-wing talk show pundits to put him on the pedestal, similar to Fred, without a genuine organization that backed him. And to make matters worse? That same right wing segment tossed him under the bus when the voters couldn't connect.

I mean honestly there is a segment of America that has been squirell hunting, and Rudy doesn't represent it. Maybe he should have run for an office in NY?

Maybe stick to consulting in NYC.

But ouch, his fall was one of the historical cycles of politics that will be studied by historians and social scientist wondering what was he thinking???

I doubt If Judith is going to be happy about Rudy's drop in the polls. She was counting on becoming First Lady. Guess she'll just have to hire a dog walker now that the Secret Service is out of reach for the job.

Know when to fold them, know when to hold them, know when to walk away, know when to run!

Judith Regan Lawsuit Settled Is Settled
By HILLEL ITALIE – 1 hour ago

NEW YORK (AP) — The war is over: Judith Regan, the publisher fired in the wake of her efforts to release O.J. Simpson's hypothetical "confession," has settled her $100 million lawsuit with Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation.

"The parties are pleased that they have reached an equitable, confidential settlement, with no admission of liability by any party," according to a joint statement issued Friday.

"I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked with so many gifted people and am looking forward to my next venture," Regan, who filed a $100 million defamation suit last November, said in a statement.

Regan's ReganBooks imprint at HarperCollins published a long list of racy best sellers, including Jose Canseco's "Juiced" and Jenna Jameson's "How to Make Love Like a Porn Star." But she was fired in December 2006, less than a month after Murdoch canceled her plans to publish O.J. Simpson's allegedly fictional murder confession, "If I Did It." The book and a companion Fox television interview were greeted with widespread public outrage.

"Ms. Regan is a talented publisher who created many award-winning and best-selling books during her twelve and a half years at the company," the company said in a statement. "News Corp. thanks Ms. Regan for her outstanding contributions and wishes her continued success."

At the time of her firing, when she still had more than two years on her contract, News Corp. alleged that Regan made anti-Semitic comments to a company lawyer during an angry telephone conversation.

"This charge was completely fabricated," according to Regan's lawsuit.

"After carefully considering the matter, we accept Ms. Regan's position that she did not say anything that was anti-Semitic in nature, and further believe that Ms. Regan is not anti-Semitic," News Corp. said Friday.

Regan had also accused her former employers of asking her to lie to federal investigators about Bernard Kerik, the former New York City police commissioner who was once her lover, and had tried to smear her.

Regan said the smear campaign stems from her past intimate relationship with Kerik, who was police commissioner under former Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, and from the political agenda of News Corp.

Giuliani, a Republican, appointed Kerik police commissioner and recommended him to President Bush for secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. Kerik had to withdraw his nomination after it was revealed he had not reported the wages he paid to a nanny. He was indicted last November, days before Regan filed her lawsuit, on counts including accusations of lying to the White House and filing false income tax returns. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Hopefully, Judith can milk some new material for another best-seller from Bernie's upcoming trial:
"If I had not done it" sounds like a catchy title to me...
Unfortunately, unlike O.J., Bernie can't afford a legal dream team so it looks like this time we'll be spared from the Court Circus starring Barry Scheck, Bob Shapiro, F. Lee Bailey and Alan Dershowitz in the most stellar roles of their careers
It would have been so much fun, though!

Entitled: "Whose got your back, big fella?!"

Since nobody will say it, when is Rudy gluliani and Bernie Kerik is going come out the closet and free themselves. Maybe this accounts for his macho type 911 type speeches and his dressing up in drag and marrying his cousin. Maybe he and Kerik are still in denial. This idea
of wanting to kill all muslims is a cry for help.
