Waxman Asks for Criminal Probe of Alleged Juicer
From The Los Angeles Times:
Congress asked the Justice Department to investigate whether former AL MVP Miguel Tejada lied to House committee staff when he was interviewed in 2005 in connection with the Rafael Palmeiro steroids case.House Oversight and Government Committee chairman Henry Waxman opened today's hearing into the Mitchell Report about drug use in baseball by announcing that he and ranking minority member Tom Davis sent a letter to Attorney General Michael Mukasey today.
You can read the letter, which walks through the interview with Tejada, here (pdf).

Jesus Christ Waxman, the constitution is being trampled, Sibel Edmonds is still gagged, the criminals that sold our security in the name of profits roam freely and our economy is on the verge of collapse, elections are being stolen right under our noses and YOU ARE WASTING OUR MONEY ON A GOD DAMNED SPORTS AND ENTERTAINMENT scandal?
FUCK YOU ASSHOLE!
Recall Waxman NOW!

Hey Dan,
Don't take Waxman out. He's about the only honest guy still standing! However, I agree with you that this is NOT WORTH Taxpayers' $$$ and time! It is, however, VERY worth our time to tackle the things you list.

He's playing smoke and mirrors just like the rest of congress. It's bullshit.
We are running out of time and opportunity. Waxman and congressional leadership would rather play politics than serve the nation, to me that's sufficient for recall.
Waxman has had years to indict real crimiinals. And he gives us THIS SHIT?

Perhaps this is an experiment. Perhaps the plan is to see how Mukasey responds when someone lies to a House Committee. If he responds quickly, then there will be comparisons made to the speed at which he responds to calls for investigations into Gonzales' testimonies and other DOJ liars' testimonies.
Perhaps Waxman is putting this on Mukasey's plate to establish a "norm."

Cool...
We'll now find out that Congress will still throw the book at common folks... just not at the elite, because, after all, the pigs really ARE more equal, now that we are no longer living in a democracy... IMHO

What a waste of time under the circumstances. Is there any wonder why Congress has such low approval ratings. Waxman is at least concerned with the Constitutional trainwreck caused by the unitary executive theory run amouk, but please keep your eye on the prize.

Well, I'm glad to see my initial reaction puts me in good company. My initial reaction was "Doesn't Waxman have anything better to do than to investigate baseball. Reminds me of when Nero fiddled as Rome burned." Enough of the stalling. Back up your subpoenas with contempt citations already! Inherent Contempt or bust, with the operative word being BUST! Either that, or you don't deserve to win your next election regardless of who you are!

Yep--complete waste of time. There is zero reason for Congress to be tackling this--zero. If baseball wants to clean itself up, that's its own business and bother. The absolute limit of federal involvement should be the FBI.

As a Waxman constituent, I am proud to have him as my representative. I can't think of another representative in the House who I would rather have. It would be idiotic to launch a recall of one of the few people in the house who is doing anything.
As for the steroid thing, I think you could condemn him if that was ALL he was focused on. However, he seems to be addressing all the right issues AS WELL as the steroid issue. Who is your representative Dan, and what is he or she doing to address the corruption that has plagued the country (both in and out of government)? If you want to clean house, start by taking out the trash and trimming the overgrown weeds before you begin polishing the doorknob.

My representative is a junior republican who chairs nothing and does pretty much nothing. Since you love waxman so much, please tell me why so many millions are being wasted on a police investigation. Is waxman gonna reign in the Baseball commissioner? Why does He sit on the Sibel Edmonds stuff? Why do Wexler and Kucinich cry alone for impeachment? Ya know...I'm NOT sorry for insulting your precious sensebilities. But I have also called for the removal of Reid, Pelosi, Feinstein for taking OUR constitutional right to impeach away from US. Waxman appears to be of the same mindset. Yeah, at least Waxman is doing something...he's adding to the smomke and mirrors that are being used to steal our nation away from us. I have lost faith in Waxman and his infinite and unending investigations.
If YOU take offense to that Stan, tough shit.
