Boehner Pushes Renzi to Resign

House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) had more forceful words than John McCain's for Rick Renzi:

"The charges contained in this indictment are completely unacceptable for a member of Congress, and I strongly urge Rep. Renzi to seriously consider whether he can continue to effectively represent his constituents under these circumstances."

Who says the same won't be said of the President in re the Senate's review of the impeachable offenses:

Republicans Do Take Indictments Seriously "The charges contained in this indictment are completely unacceptable for a member of Congress President of the United States, and I strongly urge Rep. Renzi the President to seriously consider whether he can continue to effectively represent his constituents under these circumstances."

The indictments agaisnt the President, like those against Renzi, do prompt Members of Congress to call for resignations. Put it in writing. Then notice whether the GOP is or isn't serious about being consistent.

Let me try to break down Boehner's comments in plain English: "Rick, this is an election year. And with every one of these GOP scandals, Larry Craig's horn-dog toe-tapping gets louder. And now, the ol' barnstormer himself is accused of jumping a lobbyist. A LOBBYIST! We gotta do what's best for the party... Or, at least, our own cankered futures. Sorry, Rick, we're flushing you down the toilet."

(We'll leave unexamined Boehner's own boners in the recent past.)

Oh sure now he's has to come out and say that. This has been around for years. Cripes he's been on the congressional "most corrupt" list for three years already!!! There's more, much more to be exposed and that could probably leave mccain clutching the toilet rim as the big flush gains the big mo. buh bye. 36 counts!!! This was not an isolated occurance. Let's get into defense contracts and such for daddy's connections and all like that, shall we? Tip of the iceburg that is rick renzi->mccain->cheney/bushco. Let's pull this thread a little more.

He will resign by tomorrow morning.... just a guess. I hope :-D

Republicans are waking up, and speaking out. The demands for Renzi's resignation echo calls for Bush/Cheney to be prosecuted as war criminals. It's no longer certain that the Republicans in the Senate will not examine the evidence. One NH Republican supporting impeachment:

"[N]ot only should Bush and Cheney be impeached, but also they should be tried as war criminals in a Nuremburg style trial for crimes against humanity"
