Tabula Rasa

From The Caucus:

A conservative group -– Citizens United -– that has produced a film now in distribution attacking Hillary Clinton called “Hillary, the Movie,” has its sights set on a new target: Barack Obama.

The group has budgeted about $1 million to produce a documentary film about Mr. Obama that is set to be distributed this summer. At the moment, Citizens United has its researchers poring over Mr. Obama’s records as a community organizer, state legislator and United States senator in the same way that it scoured Mrs. Clinton’s record with a highly critical eye and a sharply conservative point of view.

“Obama is a completely clean slate,” said David Bossie, president of the group. “We will develop the image that we want the people to see. We’re doing the hard work of the research right now. The American people don’t know much about Obama, except that they like his speaking style.”

Why do I have a feeling that the word "madrassa" might help fill in the picture?

As we noted earlier this week, Citizens United has embarked on a legal battle to advertise their film unconstrained by campaign finance laws. The Supreme Court will decide next week whether it will rule on the case.

You see? The slime machine will target Obama as much as Hillary. Whomever Dems nominate will be swift-boated.

Er, so, no one has said otherwise....

This is actually good for Obama, get it out early so it can be written about, and discounted before the election.

After the Kerry debacle, why am I afraid that the American public will be hoodwinked again?

Ah, don't worry. Kerry ALLOWED himself to be unfairly attacked. Obama is ready for this crap.

These losers are going to try to tarnish Obama. Big deal. Let 'em. All I can say is they'd better tell the truth, or I'd guess that they'll learn real quick that not everyone rolls over and plays dead like Kerry did.

On the up side, at least an Obama candidacy means that effort and money they put into sliming Clinton will be wasted, and they have to start over and burn more resources. And like someone else pointed out, Obama has shown he hits back. Maybe that's coming from Chicago politics instead of Massachusetts.

What is the Democart equivillant to this?
Does anyone know why movies are not made about Republicans?

I have audio/video studio. If it is just about shedding light on the dark side of major canidates I would love to begin production on Mccain.

Anyone intersted?

How does branding Barak as a Muslim help the conservatives? bush holds hands with their leaders!

I wouldn't get too hung up on the Muslim angle. As folks not supporting Obama have been pointing out for a long time, there are a lot of problems with him. He's not a transcendent figure of hope that so many of you fervently believe, or want to believe. He's not a loser like Kerry and Gore turned out to be by not defending themselves or fighting to win. But, that said, Obama has some serious problems that anyone who hasn't drank the Kool-Aid can clearly see. Sorry, while he might be a pretty new face and carries the claimed mantra of hope, he is a typical, somewhat corrupt politician with a temper and rude streak.

I figure the movie will show his rudeness and temper, it will explore his personal friend and slumlord of 20 years. 20 years by Obama's own admission. A cozy house deal that he admits was a 'boneheaded mistake'. Guess that will make a few good clips. There their is his support of driver's licenses for illegals with the backdrop of illegals streaming across the borders, of people telling about loved one's dead at the hands of illegal drivers. And those present votes, shall we explore some of them!? Wow, we could go on here but I'm sure while you've been sticking your head in the sand and saying no, we don't want to hear, others have been documenting this stuff. Obama, the movie, should be eye opening.

Well, there's always the "Keating Five". But which viewers would you be aiming at? Convincing undecided Republican voters that McCain is a poor choice might just convince undecided Democrats that he's o.k. I agree tho' that Dems will always be trying to catch up unless they're able to engage at the "Swift boat" level. If Rove's tactics are acceptable to god and the GOP, they ought be acceptable to all Americans.

Beckwith (freedomsenemies.org) notes:

" Nobody, except Obama knows if his conversion to Christianity is real or not. Although some reports and even Obama have referred to a "baptism", there doesn't appear to be any record of a baptism.

Chicago-based journalist, broadcaster and critic Andy Martin, when asked about Obama's baptism, wrote, "I have never been able to obtain any evidence that he was baptized, although I asked for those records."

It seems that Obama's conversion occurred when he answered one of Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright's altar calls by walking down the aisle of Trinity Church to make a formal commitment of his faith.

Cathleen Falsani, religion columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times, writes, "He (Obama) described his conversion experience in his mid-20s, how he walked the aisle at Trinity United Church of Christ one Sunday in a public affirmation of his private change of heart."

---------------

And you wonder why Citizens United's deal is going to fly?

One thing you can be sure of, there is a lot more dirt out there on the Clintons than Obama. Hell, there is a lot more dirt on the Clintons in the last year, between Hsu and Bill's numerous sketchy financial dealings, than there is over Obama's entire life.

"The American people don’t know much about Obama, except that they like his speaking style.”

Like it or not that smacks of the truth. The difference is that no one, not even her supporters think Clinton is a saint. And the same is true about McCain. Their supporters are reality-based.

Obamites on the other hand believe he is the messiah. A rude awakening is in store. The non-converted will have serious doubts as the election approaches should he be the nominee. Nothing hurts evangelicals so much as a harsh dose of reality. There will be more revelations. You can take that to the bank.
