White House Wags Finger at Plagiarizing Aide
"We were just made aware about Tim's column and his actions this morning," said White House spokeswoman Emily Lawrimore. "Obviously this is not acceptable." Lawrimore would not comment on whether the president would ask Goeglein to resign, saying the White House was still "looking into the details."
As we noted in an update below, commenters over at blogger Nancy Nall's site have been dredging up example after example of Goeglein's instances of plagiarism. Judging by a selection of his columns, Goeglein's trouble stems from his preeningly erudite writing style, a style he was evidently unable to sustain on his own.

Ask him to resign for plagarism? Honesty and originality have never been present in this White House so what's there to be accountable for? This is just a very small drop in a rainstorm.

Where's the original work Goeglein used to develop the "message for the day": Which contractors were sending this into the White House email system?
Contracts to Analyze NSA Media Messaging How much of the "message of the day" is related to NSA-related media messaging analysis, forwarded to the White House?; How do the illegal FISA warrants fit into the media message analysis Goeglein was involved in publishing?
Telecom Immunity Scare Tactis How much of the White House "message of the day" on the NSA telecoms was funneled from the telecoms through Goeglein into the White House press office?
War Crimes What involvement did Goeglein with the "message of the day" on FISA violations, prisoner abuse, illegal warfare, war crimes?
TPMM and US Atty Firings Subpoenas How does this information transfer between the public affairs office where Goeglein worked fit int with the US Atty firings; and the documented coordination between DoJ Staff and the political, legal, and public affairs offices?

Free trips:
The link between the White House, Federalist Society, and the NSA telecoms has been established; and is positively linked to the WH Political office. The House Judiciary Committee, because of the alleged copyright issue on Goeglein's computer, can now ask questions about the seized computer:
- FISA violations When did the Federalist Society coordinate with the telecoms and Goeglein on issues of NSA immunity; how were these coordinating memos archived on Goeglein's computer ; what connection does Goeglein have with the DoD contractors assigned to violate the FISA requirements?
- Geneva What role did the Federalist Society play in issuing public messages through Goeglein to mislead Congress on issues of Geneva, war crimes, and legal counsel attachment to those frivolous legal arguments; when did Goeglein save these memos?
- JAGs To what extent was the Federalist Society using Goeglein to issue statements designed to downplay the Geneva concerns the JAGs raised on issues of prisoner abuse, war crimes, and illegal violations of the Geneva Conventions; what involvement did Goeglein have with the WH e-mail contractors?
- Smith Act How many formerly assigned White House counsel linked with the Federalist Society had an interest in rewarding Goeglein for issuing unattributed media messages designed to mislead the public on issues of war crimes, prisoner abuse, NSA illegal activity, FISA violations;
- To what extent were media messages placed in Iraq, and forwarded through the White House/Goeglein with the intent to mislead the Congress on issues of WMD, Iraq insurgency, and issues warranting Congressional oversight?

FOIAs in re Goeglein. There are other reports which have his name on it, and can be requested.
Here is the guidance which WH Counsel will have to respond within 30 days:
Except as provided in paragraph (a)(6) of this section, the Director of OGE shall make any report filed pursuant to this section available for public inspection and copying within 30 days after the applicable due date or within 30 days after the date OGE actually receives the report, whichever is later.

Putting aside Goeglein's particular travel, we can broadly review all the travel information for all the WH personnel.
This doesn't mean a "person inside WH counsel's office," but the opposite: Somemone who is reasonabe, and knows about:
- US Atty firings
- Political office involvement with public affairs on US Atty, Miers, and Bolten issues
- NSA telecoms
- FISA violations
- Prisoner abuse, Geneva violations, war crimes
Questions:
- Would someone with all the facts on the table, when reviewing all the travel reimbursements, see there was a conflict in re telecoms, war crimes, prisoner abuse, and frivolous legal arguments by counsel in blocking oversight?
- Who would do a "reasonable review of the facts" if the WH personnel have their head in the sand?

Here's a key factor in analyzing the funds transfer. Relies on other issues: "Any matter pending".
- Which of the NSA telecoms have paid WH personnel for trips
- What's the relationship between the "request for immunity"; and media messages Goeglein and others, through the public affairs office, have coordinated/issued through the White House?

Take a look at Goeglein's connections with this media camapaign.
- How were the media messages coordinated with the White House, legal counsel, and outside counsel working with AT&T, NSA, and the telecoms?
- What was Goeglein's role in coordinating messages between the White House, AT&T, NSA, and outside counsel on media messages related to the NSA telecom issues before Congress?
- When did Goeglein get involved with the statements provided to Congress about the "big scary events" that would happen unless the telecoms were given immunity?

Those who support the NSA's illegal activity appear to have an intereset in discrediting opponents of the White House's "moral" agena. Look who was discrediting attacks on the White house, while spewing forth non-sense about the NSA. Goeglein's conduct means the attack on Kuo are meaningless From:
After today, citing Goeglein can backfire. These claims have been discredited:
Again, those who want to discredit attacks on the NSA's illegal activity have a strange fascination with relying on Goeglein for verbal armor.
