Anybody who's watched Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick for any period of time won't be surprised at his reaction to today's indictment.
From the Detroit Free Press link:
I am so effing tired of learning about how one politician after another has abused his office (yes, it's mostly men) for personal gain, whether it's financial or power. The sense of entitlement that runs rampant with the Kilpatricks, the Spitzers, the Cunninghams, and all the rest is sickening.
Remember when there was this quaint little concept that being elected to office was for "public service"? All I see in these stories is self-service.
Until we as pissed-off Americans push for changes in how every elected office rewards its holder, there will only be more of this. Until the perception that being elected to public office means unlimited opportunities for financial reward, unchecked power, and infinite self-aggrandizement is obliterated by an electorate that has had enough of it to force changes, the Kilpatricks and Spitzers will be able to feel that whatever they want to do to indulge their egos or their pockets is not just a perk but an entitlement of their offices.
Public service, folks. Not self-service.

Corruption in the Democratic party must not be tolerated. I just wish we could eject John Murtha, Dianne Feinstein, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and other fake Dems as fast as we should eject plain old crooks like Kilpatrick and Jefferson.

It wasn't long ago that the Mayor traveled to Asheville NC to give an address to the annual MLK breakfast at a big, old historic hotel. He brought a traveling companion and it wasn't his wife. Most anyone who worked there can tell you whose company he shared all night. As of yesterday, you could identify her by her mugshot. Lying, felonious scumbags. Nothing more and nothing less.
