Breaking: Jury Finds D.C. Madam Guilty on All Counts
Not so fantastic news for the purveyor of a legitimate "fantasy sex" operation.
It looks like the prosecution's "long, sad parade of former prostitutes" did its work. Deborah Jeane Palfrey was convicted on a slate of racketeering and money laundering charges related to running the service.

In classic Republican style, the prosecutors harassed and humiliated all of the women involved while giving every one of this operation's male customers a free pass.

Hey AF off topic but I love your ASIAF site.
Finally gave in to the urge and visited today.
Sure would love to see madam's list become public. I bet she's gonna be a rich woman. Payoff time.

As to the rap about the John's getting "a free pass" -- think about that:
When a male pays a woman for sex (and its extremely rare he doesn't pay for it one way or another), he gives money and gets sex.
She gets both the money and sex.
He doesn't get a free pass, and she profits doubly.
And when it comes to jail time? Grener got 10 years; and for the exact same crimes Lyndie English got 3 years.
Why? Because women can't be held accountable for the consequences of their decisions because they simply can't resist being made to do things they don't want to do because of inferior mental capacities. So someone or something else is at fault -- such as the self-serving sexist fabrication "patriarchy".
"The patriarchy made me do it!"
That disparity couldn't be more obvious than when there's a draft during war time: men are drafted and thrown away as cannon fodder, women are not.
Why are those the realities? Because women are "oppressed".

If you put a $10 bill in your hand, you get sex twice *AND* get the money. Ain't that a bargain!!!

What a shock. Funniest anecdote to date showed up in a WaPo article last week:
Palfrey's hiring process, it turned out, was not flawless.
A fifth former employee testified yesterday: Fauzia Mack, 46, a Mary Kay cosmetics representative and mother of three from Rockville, who said she answered an Internet employment ad for Pamela Martin & Associates in 2006. She said she thought the company was a "social companionship" firm that would pay her to spend time with elderly people.
She said she wanted to earn money to buy dorm furniture for her daughter. She said she was sent to Great Falls for what she thought would be "an hour of companionship" with a man who eventually asked her for oral sex.
"That was not appropriate," said Mack, who told jurors that she left the house and called Palfrey to tell her what had happened. She said Palfrey fired her in anger.
"She called me a nitwit."

Another aspect that was covered up by the prosecutors is.............HOW THE LOCAL COPS GOT PAID OFF IN CASH TO PROTECT THIS OPERATION FOR SO LONG......and doesn't that happen in every town, city, and state I've lived in?
In AUSTIN, TEXAS, the vicelords (pimps, massage parlor owners, mafia connected bookies, and TIER ONE, TWO, AND THREE LEVEL DRUG DEALERS) always pay off the cops at least 25--30% of the ill gotten gain.
These cops...never get busted.
But...Mueller at FBI HQ took my advice (FBI could open a war on pimps and use civil asset seizure laws) and got SEN GRASSLEY to sponsor a bill that "opened civil asset seizure" for pimping.
Haven't seen much on this being an administration PR offensive in the war on crime.

Just look in the Yellow Pages under "Escort" . . . what, you already have?
Who decides which ones of these need to be taken to court? They all do the same thing . . . I am told . . .

JNagarya,
Perhaps I didn't make my point clear. All of the "johns" including Senator Vitter got a "free pass" in that they were not even asked to testify in this case. The men were all spared the humiliation and embarrassment. As for the women involved, it seemed like the prosecutors compelled every one of the women possible to take the stand. Once on the stand they were all subjected to repeated and specific questions about the sex.

Indeed--think of the double pleasure these girls received from Vitter--what a great thrill they must have experienced dressing him in diapers. And to think they got paid for this privilege as well--such a deal!
Presumably these women weren't cheap--did the authorities dig into Vitter's payment methods? Gee, why not?

I agree a double standard occurred here; however you can't argue that she appeared to be clearly guilty from the press reports so the jury's decision is not surprising.
