Kilpatrick: "I Am Being Punished by My God"

God giveth and he taketh away. Detroit Mayor Kwame "Busted Is What You See!" Kilpatrick can attest to that:

The mayor addressed a crowd Saturday at Fellowship Chapel Church in Detroit. He and his former chief of staff face perjury and other charges stemming from their testimony during a whistle-blower trial last year.

Kilpatrick told the crowd: "I'm not being whupped by the devil; I am being punished by my God. I know that my disobedience put me in the situation I am in."

So it seems that Kilpatrick finally understands what he did to deserve the mess he's in. That much is clear. The next logical question is what Detroit did to deserve Kwame Kilpatrick.

Kwame Kilpatrick is using race baiting and religion to try and weasel out of this. He doesn't like to talk about how his firing of three good city police officers affected their families, but loves to talk how this is effecting his family. It's whitey and the big bad media trying to bring a God-fearing brother down...

Of course breaking ones wedding vows by cheating on your wife, by swearing to tell the truth in court and then arrogantly lying though your teeth isn't an affront to ones God. But now he rallies the local pastors around him and now never missing a Sunday mass, even stooping so low to give interviews from the church. Of course it doesn't hurt that the church is getting a "donation boost" from all of this support they are giving him.

I guess he can now blame God for punishing him...

Leave it to a misguided religious guy to NEVER take responsibility. It's always God gives and God takes, and when things go downhill God immediately becomes a punishing God. Too bad these folks cannot recognized the new testament loving God. Perhaps then we could begin lessen our fear and talk more before attacking other countries. Many of these guys actually believe they are the instrument God is using to punish those heathens overseas.

Of course, if history is our teacher, "we the People" will be the target of their instructions after the bad guys overseas are taken care of...

Mike Elrick and his Free Press colleagues deserve a Pulitzer.

I have a hard time believing the Freep won't win the Pulitzer in 2009 for their work on this story. It's some of the best journalism I've seen in my lifetime (30 years old).

. . . . 'methinks HE PROTESTS TOO MUCH!!. . . .

Now God wants you to enjoy your private parts, really she/he does.

What God isn't keen on is destroying other people's lives to cover your own errors, and breaking any oath you've taken to uphold the law and be of service to your fellow (Wo)man without personal profit or gain.

America is getting smarter at seeing crap like this for what it is.

Now Kilpatrick listen as God is coming through again, own up to it, step down, pay whatever punishment is handed to you and allow your city to heal.
