22-Year-Old Arms Dealer Arrested

From the Miami Herald:

A 22-year-old munitions dealer and others in his Miami Beach company were arrested on charges of selling prohibited Chinese weaponry to the U.S. government to supply allied forces in Afghanistan, according to law enforcement officials.

Efraim Diveroli, president of AEY Inc., and three other employees were arrested Thursday night and Friday morning -- accused of conspiring to misrepresent the types of munitions they sold to the U.S. Department of Defense as part of a $300 million Army weapons contract, officials said.

Diveroli and the others are charged with violating the Arms Export Control Act stemming from an investigation that began earlier this year by the Pentagon and Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Andy Samberg.

So it is. I don't even know my own references. I'm embarrassed.

But I do see a resemblence.

BBpdx: How dare you not get the star of HOT ROD's name correct? www.hotrodmovie.com :)

How could I have forgotten that classic?

Obama's not even in office yet and government's begun acting like there's a new sheriff in town!

Of course, the big guys (Haliburton, KBR et.al.) will skate...

Yeah, I'll start to believe it when some of the big fish are stuffed and mounted.

Didn't Prescott Bush get charged with that also or was that just money laundering for the Nazi's?

That warms the old cockles of my heart.

Dude, where's my Executive Privilege?

Andy Samberg, dead on!

Isn't there just something slightly wrong with the use of the words '22 year old' and 'munitions dealer' in the same sentence?

Guarantee, if you trace the family background, he is related to somebody who the U.S. is using for nefarious reasons. $300 million dollars? That's a kickback! He had to have met with somebody in person, prior to getting that contract!

What about the government employees who paid for them? Surely someone in the Department of Defense is responsible for making sure they're getting what they pay for?

How does that work?

Wow, a young man of draft age who has "other interests" rather than joining the service?

Does any one else smell a young Dick Cheney in this guy?

if they were telecoms, they could get off with immunity... they apparently are just not important enough...

Really bizarre story? HUH? There is billions of wasted dollars buried in IRAQ. If the economy and money really meant anything there would be an effort to bring those funds back and prosecute the fraudulent thieves. Which just goes to show what we have been saying since 2003. The U.S. economy is comepletely fake, the educational system is comletelty fake and the political system (Democracy) is compeletely.

The kid would have a future in the GOP, if the GOP had a future. :)

Back to "Duke" Cunninghamp, Abrahmoff, Wilkes, Wade and all the earmarks? Is ANYONE still investigating what went on here? How earmarks went to shell companies? Did Dusty Foggo get any?

Now that the Democrats are in charge (and not Erik Prince's buddy, Pete "Blackwater" Hoekestra) of the Intelligence and Armed Services and Appropriations committees -- Where did the money goe?

Some of us are waiting for answers, Nancy, Barack, John, Hillary ....

... the earmark money that went to shell companies and then, some of it, back to "Jack," the RNC and some GOP candidates?
