Mukasey to Testify Again on Hill
We just received confirmation that Attorney General Michael Mukasey is set to testify before the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday at 10:15 AM ET.
The hearing, titled "Oversight of the U.S. Department of Justice" is thought to be Mukasey's final appearance on the Hill. Chairman John Conyers (D-MI) will be presiding.

Mukasey today called for Congress to issue a New AUMF. He appears to fear the current AUMF does not go far enough and could have expired, or will soon. This would cut the knees out from under Bush claims of authority based on the current AUMF. Congress has made numerous movements toward rescinding or canceling the current AUMF. The hearing should/ could get heated on this point if Congress picks up on this point of his speech.

Mukasey's final appearance on the Hill
Wow! That's great news! Fantastic. I didn't think these phony hearings were ever going to end. For years now, we've been subjected endless, pointless and inconsequential hearings by people pretending to perform their oversight duties. Now at least, the House Judiciary Committee can quit pretending it oversees anything and let the criminals get back to what it is that they do best...
I for one, am delighted. Bravo!

Which Democrat will be the first to genuflect before Mukasey? Which will most effusive in their thanks to him for bothering to show up (if, indeed, he actually does).
