I don't recall seeing anything about the means of suicide for Ivins. Now, I'm not a big tinfoil hat guy, but it appears that not much would be beneath this administration...

I read someplace that the method of suicide was a Tylenol overdose. Has anyone seen any evidence against this guy? I mean, if the guy was abnormally stressed and being harassed by government agents everyplace, it may be that if he committed suicide it was because of the harassment, not because of his guilt or his knowledge that the jig is up. The official line is that the guy was guilty and mentally unstable. Is there any evidence of this other than the official line? I'm not big on conspiracy theories, but it doesn't take a concerted conspiracy to drive someone with emotional problems to suicide. It's not as if the FBI hasn't gone after the wrong person before...did they manage to kill the right guy this time?

Given its history of misconduct and politicizing for the past seven plus years, why should Americans trust the FBI?

And let's not stop the buck with the FBI, but let's include as well, the CIA, the DOJ, the Pentagon and that most of all corrupt body, the U.S. Congress that has not only allowed the misconduct of these organizations, but willingly participated with them to mislead the American public into an illegal war, financial mismanagement and acts againist the Constitution.

You don't have to be a blind conservative not to see it, just an ignorant one to deny it.

In the summer of 2002, after I had written an article in Esquire that the White House didn't like about Bush's former communications director, Karen Hughes, I had a meeting with a senior adviser to Bush. He expressed the White House's displeasure, and then he told me something that at the time I didn't fully comprehend -- but which I now believe gets to the very heart of the Bush presidency.

The aide said that guys like me were ''in what we call the reality-based community,'' which he defined as people who ''believe that solutions emerge from your judicious study of discernible reality.'' I nodded and murmured something about enlightenment principles and empiricism. He cut me off. ''That's not the way the world really works anymore,'' he continued. ''We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality -- judiciously, as you will -- we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors . . . and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do.''

History's playwrights have lost their credibility.

Here's the problem with Ivins. If the evidence is too compelling, then why wasn't he indicted a long time ago. If it's not compelling, then why accuse him now -- after he committed suicide?

My guess is the Bush regime's 'reality-creation' operation is maxxed out. When they couldn't fit the Anthrax facts into the Iraq/terror narrative, they ignored it. They chose Ivins as the most guilty possibility and pressured him by threatening to go public with lots of shameful personal information. When he kills himself, they have no choice but to brazen it out with suggestive evidence of creepiness and opportunity.
