AP: French to Remain As Probe Chief
The Associated Press reports that Sen. Kim Elton, the head of the legislative council overseeing the Trooper-Gate investigation of Sarah Palin, has denied Republican efforts to have Sen. Hollis French, a Democrat from Anchorage, removed from his role overseeing the probe.
On Friday, Rep. John Coghill, a Republican, released a letter charging that French had politicized the investigation, and calling for his removal. And today, Rep. John Harris, the House GOP leader, told TPMmuckraker he supported Coghill's move, saying French had "overstepped his bounds," in talking about the possibility of impeachment for the govenor, and had created "more of a partisan situation." Harris also named Elton, a Democrat, as a possible replacement for French.
According to an associate of French, the Anchorage Democrat expressed concern over the weekend about his ability to effectively run the ongoing investigation, in the face of efforts by Republicans on the committee to challenge his control. Today's declaration of confidence in French by Elton could give French more room to maneuver.

Mr French, for the next month or so please do not fly in any small airplanes.

Elton and French . . . Two Democrats . . . Displaying spines . . . On a whirlwind adventure.
If only Reid and Pelosi would catch their disease.

Like Reid has enough vote to avoid a filibuster. Yeah right.
You might be surprised how much support French has even from Republicans. Palin stepped on lots of people in the Republican party to get were she is today and now many of those are finally turning on her. And why not? You can believe that 90% to 95% of those Republicans are more competent than Palin is anyhow.

From a distance, the Alaska State Legislature seems to be fairly bipartisan. But which body controls the investigation, the Senate or the House? (The Democrats hold a majority in the Senate, and the Republicans hold one in the House)

Zachary: Did you mean to say "legislative council"?

In the first sentence, that "legislative counsel" must really be legislative council. He's the head of a committee of legislators, he's not head of the legislative branch's legal representation.
Well Ok maybe you did mean that he was head of the legislature's legal representation and that is the department responsible for this investigation.
Either way it could be made more clear with a few minute's editing.

The "Project Director" of this Troopergate witch hunt, Hollis French, is an extreme partisan Obama supporter.
Not WRIGHT for America has been destroying him all week.
French has made comments about how the investigation would damage Governor Palin even before the investigation has begun, and when he's not leaking information, he's lying about the nature of his role in the investigation--he has directed the investigation even though he claims to have nothing to do with it. That doesn't sound like impartial or independent to me.

Sorry it doesn't meet your smell test. Must be hard to tell, though, with such an obvious stink around your thinking!

Because a site titled 'Not WRight for America' is totally believable and not at all partisan in and of itself and totally has no agenda of its own.
Hoenst!
...what?
