House Oversight Steps into Fray of Financial Crisis
It looks like Congress has stepped into the fray of the Wall Street crisis.
In letters to Lehman Brothers and AIG sent today, Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA), chair of the House Oversight Committee, requested the communications from the last 180 days of the CEOs and board of directors at the two companies. He also requested information about how the CEOS and board members would be compensated following the bankruptcy and government bailout of the two firms.
Additionally, a tipline has been set up to assist Congress with their "investigation into the collapse of Lehman Brothers and AIG."

How does the Treasury Department create this big bank slush fund on it's own, without Congress having a say?

Funny thing, this afternoon while watching 'Chris Mathews' one of the talking heads was accusing the Democrats for not doing anything about Lehman Brothers 5 years ago! He went on to state that Republicans spoke out about the unstable company and nothing was done. WHAT?????????
If anyone can find footage, story or anything on this statement...please- please post it.
Thanks

I hope Henry gets more than a "we don't intend to send you anything" reply.
The constant bailouts will tie the next president's hands and bankrupt your offspring before they can be conceived.
Republicans only bailout Republicans. Wake up!
