Patricia L. Bush of Hobe Sound contributed $1,000 to George Bush in 1999, according to FEC records. She would have been a single woman at the time since she was divorced in the early '90s.

I hope the FBI looks at this story from all angles.

On 9/18, the Palm Beach Post ran a story about Mahoney's registered voting address. The comments are gone but someone wrote that Mahoney had paid $250k to Patricia Allen and that she had told her children that the affair could become public.

Other comments referred to Mahoney's alleged fight in March with the head of the Army Corps of Engineers over a woman who works at the south Florida water commission.

A similar comment about Allen's payoff was made in a 9/20 Highlands Today story about Mahoney's address.

The Gateway Pundit picked up the story on 9/21 and posted about it on the Freepers site.

Legistorm posted a protest against Gateway Pundit on 9/23 because he linked to Allen's salary as a Mahoney staffer without evidence that she was paid off by Mahoney.` Legistorm call the charges "scurrilous".

I don't know what happened between 9/23 and 10/13 when Brian Ross reported the story.

I'd like to know what kind of work Patricia Allen did before joining Mahoney's staff in January 2007. She certainly wasn't making a lot of money working for Mahoney.

I did find one reference to her attending a 1/07 meeting of the Loxahatchee River Commission as Mahoney's aide.

If this Patricia Allen is Patricia Lynn Allen, shoe owns two properties in Hobe Sound, according to Martin County property records.

Her ex-husband is William C. Allen, long-time owner of Allen Cabinetry in West Palm Beach. Based on Palm Beach official records and Palm Beach property records, Mr. Allen was able to pay off a $100k mortgage between 6/06 and 4/07.

Mr. Allen also appears to have transferred properties into a trust last year.

I assume that William C. Allen is the father of Patricia Allen's children.
