House Oversight Finds WH Sought Gov't Help for GOP Candidates
After lots of fun testimony, the House Oversight has released a draft report finding that the White House "enlisted agency heads across government in a coordinated effort to elect Republican candidates to Congress," directing them ""to make hundreds of trips -- most at taxpayer expense -- for the purpose of increasing the electability of Republicans" in the 2006 elections.
If you'll remember, this whole ordeal involved infamous Karl Rove aide Scott Jennings and Lurita "Private Sass" Doan, former head of the General Services Administration.
After a tactful presentation by Jennings, Doan had the good sense to ask the assembled officials "how 'we' could help 'our candidates' in the next election."

Oh, lovely Rita meter maid,
Where would I be without you?
Give us a wink and make me think of you.

If I'm not mistaken, Lurita Doan has a radio show in the DC area now. I had the misfortune of waking up to her awful voice a few months ago. That misfortune pales in comparison to what befell my alarm clock radio though...

Cool! Glad they've been found out. Now the courts can protect the taxpayers by making sure the misappropriation of funds cases are prosecuted and taxpayers money can be returned to its proper place...
WHAT! It won't happen!
Oops, once again I forget we've given our democracy away to the elephants and donkeys in Washington...
So "We the People" will never again be recompensed...

Oh yea, the creo woman that everyone thought was white, who cried of racial discrimination because she was being challenged for her incompetence.
I'd still like to kick her in her dangling participle.

Once again, any little hole that's been there for this Administration to use for political ends has been pulled into a big, ugly gash. It's going to take legislative surgery to repair these injuries, and it's going to take a lot of public-service will to do so. Since that doesn't come naturally to many (most?) of our senators and representatives, it will, once again, be up to us to push them to take the necessary action.

We're in a lurid state, a press release

they must fly on the government dime
and puff and pander to Republican pricks.
Oh, Lurida! come to me
and bring a tome on etymology.
