Todd Palin Pressured Wasilla Police Chief Not To Hire Wooten

The report reveals that four days after Sarah Palin was elected governor in November 2006, Todd Palin called John Glass, who was then the chief of the Wasilla Police Department and shortly afterwards became a deputy public safety commissioner for the state, working under Walt Monegan.

There were two vacant spots on the Wasilla PD at the time. Todd Palin told Glass that he did not want Wooten hired as a Wasilla officer, and that he should be fired as a state trooper.

Wooten was not hired by Glass.

Surprise!!!!

Worse than Sarah

Not only that, but he - Todd Palin, husband, unelected citizen - had access to personnel files and "called" Monegan in to pressure him to fire Wooten. That's a whole lot of illegal activity right there, no?

Oh the irony. Todd and Sarah have tried their hardest to make certain that Mr. Wooten never worked again. And they have succeeded gloriously. This report will provide the basis for a guaranteed settlement to Mr. Wooten from Todd and Sarah that ensures he will never have to work again.

Yeah, the irony, but I don't think Wooten will pursue it. He doesn't seem very astute.

I am not an expert on government employment, but what authority does Todd Palin have to direct a government official who can and can NOT be hired and/or fired?

I guess it's okay with republicans that non-government employees can direct who can and can not be hired and/or fired, uuuhm, interesting!

I don't think access to personnel files would be inappropriate here, only because the personnel files of most public officials, including police and firefighters are considered public record.

The appropriateness of Todd Palin injecting himself into the matter is another matter.

Employment records of anyone are never public records. The employee must always sign a release for people outside of the HR department to view their files.

Wooten signed a limited release to Molly and her divorce lawyerS. This is commonly done in family court cases, divorce and custody in particular. The release Wooten signed was for the months between Feb. and May of 2008. A copy of his signed release can be found online.

He signed another release allowing Branchflower access to his Employment AND Workmen's Comp files. These files are not one and the same file BTW.

Perhaps SarahandTodd Palin got a hold of Wooten's records via Molly McCann and possibly her attorneyS. That would create a possibility for her lawyerS to be disbarred.

It is the fact that Frank Bailey knew details of BOTH Wooten's personnel AND his Workmen's Comp files and he related those private details to Trooper Rodney Dial in the Feb. 29, 2008 taped phone call that pose a problem for The State of Alaska, SarahandTodd Palin (as individuals, if they are individuals?), and possibly Molly McCann and her attorneyS. Certainly Wooten has all he needs to sue the above in civil court now.

The audio tape of Frank Bailey stupidly spilling the beans to Trooper Dial can be found online as well. What an embarrassment Frank Bailey is to Alaskans. His head should also roll.

Alaskan citizens: It's time to RECALL Palin now.

Todd Palin, this unholy false Promisekeeper kind of wrong-headed and smug lying head of household, and arrogant holier-than-thou, too-good-for-the-United-States member of the Alaskan Independence Party, and also a bully-hiding-behind-his-wife's-apron-strings coward, whose religion simultaneously teaches him he and his church are the most special Christians of all (what humility!) while at the same time teaching him he is forgiven for all the transgressions his church implies it is okay for him to commit (given his God-given superiority), needs to do prison time. His children can visit their father there. Maybe it will help them eventually become free of the mental illness, avarice, hubris, and general moral depravity, that has consumed their parents.

Next comment I'll say what I really think.

Ouch, wow, etc. My sentiments exactly. Now we both need to settle down.

Those conservatives who are 'afraid' of an Obama presidency should perhaps imagine what it would be like to give Todd Palin access, through his wife, to the office and staff of the Vice President. Taking these two unsophisticates and giving them such increased power is a recipe for disaster even greater than we have seen.
