WI Gov: AG's Poll Watchers are "Obvious Republican Strategy"

Wisconsin's Governor Jim Doyle called out Wisconsin Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen's latest attempt at voter suppression as an "obvious Republican strategy."

Earlier this week, Van Hollen -- a Republican -- announced that he would be sending more than 50 state prosecutors and law enforcement agents to monitor polls on Election Day.

From the AP:

Governor Doyle says the attorney general has no authority to supervise elections in Wisconsin and questions what power the special agents would have if they observe a problem.

The governor says the plan is part of an "obvious Republican strategy" to raise questions about the validity of the vote.

So the AG has no authority; what Gov. are you going to do about it?

Note the shifty eyes. The smug demeanor. I could have picked that vote suppressor out of a lineup.
The way the Republicans are committing crimes, someone will obviously do just that, sooner or later.

Why is this republitard posing in front of an Hermes scarf? What is he, an Elitist!

The Governor should send State Police to watch the watchers.

That's the last thing they need. They should just instruct the polling judges to kick the AG people out. They have no business being there.

So, it the Attorney General is acting other than under the color of his authority—which is the claim of the Governor to whom he answers—at the direction of whom is he acting?

• the Republican National Committee?
• the McCain/Palin Campaign?
• the White House?
• some other collection of political operatives?

Or, is he simply a renegade, acting entirely upon his own, without coordination with other parties?

The Governor should order him to cease and desist, or face arrest for obstruction of government operations (or, whatever the Wisconsin statutory equivalent is,) or should immediately seek court intervention to protect the rights of voters and the unlawful conduct of his chief law enforcement officer.

What a $%^& mess this character has created!

There is a Government Accountability Board in WI, consisting of judges. Elections seems to be managed under this Board. I'm not sure if it is under the Secretary of State or independent. Doug La Follette is the Secy of State there. He's a Democrat and an environmentalist. He's been in office for years. Just 5 more days. What else can happen?

And of course if this guy is using state resources to engage in voter intimidation, that would be theft pure and simple.

under what jurisdiction ???

the Attorney General has the duty to OBEY ALL THE FUCKING LAWS

do I really have to explain what voter suppression laws are to this dickhead ???

I don't have a law degree

so do I gotta splain voter supression to this dickhead

cuz my prefered method would be as a juror, announcing a guilty verdict against this asshole

so does this ass hat wanna learn from me, or does he wanna do some learning outside the purview of a criminal court jury ???
