Homeland Security Official Arrested For Hiring Illegals
A top homeland security official has been accused in federal court of hiring multiple illegal immigrants as cleaners for her home, reports the Associated Press.
Lorraine Henderson is the regional director of Homeland Security, Customs, and Border Protection. She is responsible for stopping illegal aliens from entering the U.S. through the port of Boston.
But, reports the AP:
[A]ccording to an affidavit, for several years Henderson employed a Brazilian housekeeper who was an illegal immigrant. She also allegedly hired two other illegal immigrants, even after fellow agents warned her it was against the law.Henderson was arrested after one of the women wore a wire and recorded Henderson telling the woman to "be careful" because once you're deported, "you will never be back."
Henderson was arrested today and is expected to appear in court shortly.

That is completely hilarious! It's too bad Republicans don't get irony. I'd love to tell this one to my boss but I know from experience he'd just stare at me blankly.

Well, I'll take "illegals" over "crimigrants" any day.
And, um, any body know if there's some kind of antacid for schadenfreude excess? 'Cause with this one, I KNOW I'm gonna have some stomach upset.
Also, I heard that, while irony may have died a couple years back, they've apparently made some incredible advances in cryogenics and resuscitation, and they thawed the remains and it's alive!!!11!

This is not a trivial matter. Lorraine Henderson used her position and power to serve her own housekeeping needs; and more outrageously, she used her position and power to abuse another person.
She is a throwback to a feudal age. Her actions mark her as one who thinks of herself as a privileged over-lord above the law. How is this possible in America in the 21st century? Shame on her! Send her to jail.

Hey TPM,
If you can't find a picture of Henderson, could perhaps replace Chertoff's pic with the DHS symbol?
I'm no fan of Chertoff, but his only connection to the incident by this report is that he's Henderson's boss. Readers could easily get the wrong impression with his face beside that headline.
No use damaging this fine site's credibility with "imprecision." Details like that open you up to accusations of guilt by association and sloppy journalism.
