Schumer: Barofsky Hold Removed
Politico reports:
The anonymous hold on Neil Barofsky, the Bush administration's TARP special IG, was lifted late Wednesday, according to Chuck Schumer. That clears the way for (sic) quick voice vote on his nomination.
The government watchdog group POGO had also written on their website this morning that the hold had been lifted.
Still no confirmation on whether Kentucky GOPer Jim Bunning was behind it. But we've posted his photograph anyway.

"But we've posted his photograph anyway."
I see TPM still has one foot firmly planted in the realm of suspect bloggy credibility.

Can anyone explain how a Senator goes about putting an anonymous hold on someone/something? I mean, doesn't someone have to tell or write or call nother
person in the Senate and ask for the hold? Wouldn't
the recipient of that communication know who they are communicating with? How can it be anonymous?
Confidential, maybe, but anonymous? Or do they have some kind of drop box where typewritten notes
are left that cannot be traced back to the sender?
If so, how does a hold get lifted? If the recipient
of the hold request doesn't know who asked for it,
couldn't anyone simply ask for it to be removed?
