Schloz Broke Law, But Won't Face Criminal Charges
In case you were wondering about why the Schlozman report is dated July 2 2008 but was only released today, see this excerpt from page one:
We referred the findings from our investigation to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia in March 2008. We completed this written report of investigation in July 2008.The U.S. Attorney's Office informed us on January 9, 2009, of its decision to decline prosecution of Schlozman. The Interim U.S. Attorney, Jeffrey Taylor, was recused from the matter and the decision.
We are now releasing our July 2008 report of investigation...
In other words, although the report found that Schlozman broke the law and lied to the Senate about it, he won't face criminal charges.
We've called the US Attorney's office to find out more about that decision.

I'm guessing he's a member of the DC Bar and at least one other. Anybody up for submitting a bar complaint? Disbarment is the least he deserves, but it's something.

So the lesson is that DOJ employees have a license to break the law and will never be held accountable for their actions? Awesome.

fucking scumbag criminals
And the fact Obama doesnt give a shit about this stuff enough to prosecute these rats leaves me right back where I was when I knew better than to waste time thinking any politician or government entity would do the right thing.
Fuck the law, do what you like.

Be fair, Martha could handle herself in prison.

We wouldn't want to hold anybody in the Justice Department responsible for their crimes, would we. After all we are post partisan. We should let bygones be bygones. All water under the bridge, you know.
Anyway what did the Schloz do that was so bad. Lying to Democrats isn't a crime. The Schloz deserves the f**king Medal of Freedom.

I don't think America is so much post-partisan right now as post-rule of law.

Isn't part of the claim that the guy lied under oath to the U.S. Congress? If so, it seems that the next U.S. Attorney can bring charges -- and should bring charges -- to ensure that these people never do this again. I would not be all anti-Obama at this stage. My hunch is that there is a lot to clean up, but the man will clean it up (with our help).

No, that would not be post-partisan, and instead would be pursuing a partisan vendetta (justice is partisan, don't forget). We have to keep moving forward, people. Next thing you know folks will be calling for investigation and possibly even prosecution of war crimes. That's no way to come together for the good of the nation.
