Schloz: Voting Section Attorneys Are "Mold Spores"
Here's another great Schlozman line from the report:
For example, in an e-mail on July 15, 2003, to a former colleague, Schlozman wrote, "I too get to work with mold spores, but here in Civil Rights, we call them Voting Section attorneys."As part of the same e-mail exchange, on July 16, 2003, Schlozman wrote, "My tentative plans are to gerrymander all of those crazy libs rights out of the section."

what the fuck????????????????????
so this is proof there is no justice in the justice department
pure bullshit
I'm enraged over this crap.
Chuck Schumer is who I blame, along with everyone who voted for him and Bush. Chucky "Mulkasey's a good guy" Schumer.
The law means nothing.

I am an attorney with the Justice Department. I would caution you to segregate your hatred for political appointees from the civil service attorneys and managers like me who come in every day and in a myriad of ways you can't possibly imagine do everything we can for the cause of justice, whether it is pressing for appeals in cases where we know where the cause is right, and laying back a bit where we know the cause is bullshit under the law.
Let me just say this. There are more of us "libs" in the Department, as Schlozman said, than you would guess, and we have, in small but meaningful ways, eroded dumb ideas where we could. We are lawyers trained in the law and the Constitution, and when it comes to pleasing our political masters or protecting the law, you can bet we fall on the side of the rule of law.
If there is a stench coming from this place, I guarantee you it is coming from the offices of people who will not be here on Wednesday, and who had little interest in the cause of justice to begin with. The rest of us will soldier on. For you.

Thank you. However if the DOJ gets infested like that again, and you still happen to be there, can you sew some cesium in to their chairs so at least they won't reproduce?
Thanks in advance.

So from your perspective, what can we do to stop it when the next sociopathic Republican gets into office? For all our complaints about Congress falling down in their oversight investigations, the DoJ is tasked with enforcing the results. If political appointees can say "no, we're not going to enforce any contempt of Congress citations," (or worse, other lawbreaking uncovered by congressional investigations), how do we stop it?

We don't stop it. We just sit around and wait for them to collapse the economy or some nation or some voter rights or some civil service laws. They are the authorities. What can we do?
The only alternatives would be illegal.

I guess that I am thankful for whatever career people there are left doing whatever it is you guys do. Your words provide little comfort since we know these jackals shut down the civil rights section for their entire time in the building. God knows what kinda crap they've been pulling that the public isn't even aware of.
My apologies for labeling the entire Justice Department but when you have guys like Alberto V05 and Mularkey running things its hard to see or hear about career guys making a difference. I read some threads here and elsewhere with civil rights dept justice folks and know you guys weren't really feeling to good all this. I'm also aware of what the career people did about Rachel Paulose. I know everyone where you are are not the enemy.
Its hard to see justice coming out of place that refuses to prosecute people who Justice even says committed crimes.
Can you see how this kinda crap does little to instill faith in the system?

Oh yeah forgot this one- How am I supposed to know which civil service attorneys and managers in Justice are good career guys and which ones were given jobs for attending some special hitler youth bible study day camp or whatever criteria that scumbag Schloz used to hire people??????????

I don't know if the George W. Bush Presidential Library will be large enough and well-funded enough to employ all the former administration hacks whose sole talent in life is to shape the world into reality as Bush sees it.

And he's using the ol' "I passed a lie detector test" defense. Like any true believer sociopath can't pass those with flying colors...

I forwarded these comments to a House Judiciary Committee Atty and pleaded for them to take action! Outrageous!
