Report: Goss Knew Of Foggo's Shady Past
A great nugget from Laura Rozen...
Source said that Goss lied in his testimony, that he was not aware about the problems with Foggo when he hired him for executive director. He said that a major fight had broken out between Goss staffer Patrick Murray and then associate deputy director of operations Michael Sulick about the Foggo hiring. "Murray told ADDO/Counterintelligence Mary Margaret that if Dusty's background got out to the press, they would know who to come looking for. Mary Margaret tried to warn them that Dusty Foggo had a problematic counterintelligence file. Sulick defended Mary Margaret. Goss told deputy director of operations Steve] Kappes he had to fire Sulick." After that, Kappes and Sulick quit. "Goss bears major responsibility here," source says. It was finally the "White House tht demanded that Goss fire Dusty and he refused." So they both got fired.
It's not clear whether the fight that the source refers to occurred before or after Foggo's actual hiring. Though the context -- and the source's claim that Goss lied in his testimony -- suggest it was before.
Earlier, we posted Goss's explanation of the circumstances under which he hired Foggo, in which Goss gives the clear impression he believed Foggo to have a clean record when he hired him.

Uh, I'm confused. This position was an Executive Director in the CIA? I mean, they run a background check, right?

Remember this was the bush mis-administration that had Monice Goodling as a gate keeper at DOJ, and KKKarl Rove screening the US attorneys for political correctness.
They also covered up the outing of a decent real field CIA asset coordinated by the VP's office and rove.
Foggo was always just a rear echelon supply weenie.

I hope this will bring much needed scrutiny back to Porter Goss' short reign at the CIA. Goss' unexplained "resignation" (firing) is still a mystery.
Recall that when Goss arrived, he brought many of his Hill staff with him and placed them in senior jobs at the Agency. None had ever worked intel before. They were known as the "Gosslings" - Goss accolytes.
One of those Gosslings to come along was Jennifer Millerwise, Cheney's former spokesperson.
Goss has had an interesting life that needs further explanation. He's very wealthy, but we really don't know how he got that way. He's rumored to have been an assassin when he was a CIA officer way back then. He links up with voting fraudster Mark F. "Thor" Hearne.
And he's from a very old and very connected Connecticut family. With Waterbury, CT roots, Goss' family has been in the US armaments business since the late 1700's (remember Scovil Manufacturing?) Know any other old Connecticut families? Rhymes with Bush.
Goss is not dumb. He did not hire Dusty on a lark. There's still more to this story.

Yesterday or the day before when Foggo's story appeared I said I was waiting for Goss' turn. It may be now. While Tenet (under Bush) and Goss were there the CIA was rotting from the top down. They were just enablers not providers of facts. A whole lot of this cesspool situation with black prisons and torture falls on their heads. Pitiful. They sure as sh*t didn't do any of this in my name.

You gotta wonder how much bizness is being done out of the CIA. Dusty had plenty of scams working, but a guy like Goss operates on a whole 'nother level. It's likely that Foggo earned Goss' trust by doing some black bag job or another, and in the Thieves' Cabal, that is the only kind of background check necessary.
