Feingold Latest To Call For Bybee Impeachment
Sen. Russ Feingold (D-WI) is the latest to call for the impeachment of Judge Jay Bybee, in response to the release of those torture memos last week.
Bybee wrote one of the memos in 2002, when he served in the Justice Department's Office of Special Counsel.
Here's Feingold's statement:
The just released OLC memos, including the 2002 memo authored by Jay Bybee, are a disgrace. The idea that one of the architects of this perversion of the law is now sitting on the federal bench is very troubling. The memos offer some of the most explicit evidence yet that Mr. Bybee and others authorized torture and they suggest that grounds for impeachment can be made. Clearly, the Justice Department has the responsibility to investigate this matter further. As a Senator, I would be a juror in any impeachment trial so I don't want to reach a conclusion until all the evidence is before me.

How can anyone think it's OK for this man, who has shown the worst of judgment, to remain as an appellate judge?

Not only is Bybee an appellate judge, he is sitting in a spot where the next Republican president can nominate him for a position on the US Supreme Court.
Democrats in Congress have a responsibility to "We the People" to prevent this possibility from ever happening.

Sadly, and as there appears to be an appalling abundance of seemingly continued untruthfullness and/or seemingly the same 'Pack of Lies'!!.
The same disgusting, shamefull and dispicable lack of Transparency with 'Oversight and Accountability' and/or the continued seemingly deliberate and intentional shamefull, dispicable and appalling display for the lack of willingness and/or ability thereof!!
State secrets and as testified by US AG Holder numerous times (including ninth US Circuit Court of Appeals) as being FULLY VETTED and IDENTICAL to the former Bush Administration.
Where is the US Constitutional Bill of Rights Leadership for and within our 'We the People' Democracy and within our Declaration of Independence 'Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness for All'.
Where is the Presidential Candidate Obama Promise and Campaign of hope for the 'Change We Can Believe In' and his WRITTEN promise for the 'FEDERAL EMPLOYEE WHISTLEBLOWER PROTECTION RESTORATION ENHANCEMENT ACT'?
Where is the Leadership for the 'Change We Can Believe In' and not the Cheerleader for the continued intolerable Corrupt Policies, Practices and Procedures of the previous Administration(s) as applicable?
