Whitehouse Quotes Talleyrand
Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, chairing the torture hearings, quotes French revolutionary era diplomat Talleyrand:
The greatest danger in times of crisis comes from the zeal of those who are inexperienced.
Now the next witness, former FBI agent Ali Soufan, is speaking. Soufan has asked that his face not be shown, so most cameras have been removed from the room. The CSPAN camera is showing the other witnesses.

Whitehouse also read from a letter submitted into testimony by an AF interrogator who was part of the team that took out Zarqawi. This guy was appalled by the torture tactics. Every day he interrogated prisoners under a "ticking time bomb" scenario. Hundreds of IED attacks a week against US soldiers we happening at the time. he never resorted to torture because his tactics worked better and faster.
