Norman Hsu, the Democratic fundraiser whose criminal past became a scandal for Hillary Clinton during the primary in 2007, was sentenced to over 24 years in prison today for committing fraud and violating campaign finance laws, the AP reports.
Prosecutors said that Hsu used "straw donors" who he reimbursed to get around campaign finance limits. The Clinton campaign gave back over $800,000 in donations from sources linked to Hsu.
Hsu received a sentence of 20 years for the fraud he plead guilty to in May, and four years and four months on the campaign finance charges he was convicted of the same month.
Before he was sentenced, the AP reports, Hsu apologized in court.
TPMmuckraker's full coverage of the case is here.
Late Update: The Wall Street Journal comes through with a fuller account of the scene in court. Hsu said: "I know apologizing will not make things better for anyone, but I would still like to apologize to your Honor, and to everyone else."

Much too ambigiously, is it correct that many, many receipient Politicians continue to go unscathed and unprosecuted for similar or worse violations of Law?

In a related post... corruption and betrayal of the public trust, former Representative Doolittle of CA is reported as an "unindicted coconspiritor". Could we please actually indict him for selling his country on the cheap, send him to trial, convict him and sentence him to 20 years in prison with common criminals like himself? I am weary of the small fry getting hammered, while the big fish laugh it off.

Fundraiser - Nonprofit - Action committee - Get out the vote -
Global warming - Save the planet - ACLU - Affirmative action
It is time to phase all these failed programs out.
They are a drain on our country and keep minorities poor and living in Obama gettos like South Chaiago.

Try learning to think for yourself instead of spouting Republican talking points.
It would help if you read anything from Thomas Robert Malthus http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malthusian_catastrophe.
Do you also have a problem with Republican fundraising, Republican non-profit organizations like Swift Boaters, and Republican get out the vote efforts?
As for global warming, denial is a disaster in the making, comparable to an engine which cannot stop going faster and faster until it blows up.
Then there is "save the planet" - If humans don't change their lifestyles of consuming every resource in sight, the planet will continue on its course without us.
Concerning the ACLU, what have they done that you feel it is necessary to try to discredit them? List anything.
The only thing I will agree with you on is affirmative action since it promotes mediocrity.
Otherwise your thinking is as muddled as ever.
