Mark Sanford has spoken out on the plight of another embattled South Carolina Republican, Rep. Joe ("You Lie!") Wilson. But you could be forgiven for thinking the beleaguered governor was speaking more personally.

Referring to Wilson, Sanford told South Carolina's CN2 News:

The guy apologized, and then you can have a bunch of other people come back and say, 'We want you to apologize again and again and again.

He continued:

At some point in all of life, the question is not, 'When is someone going to make a mistake?', but 'When do the rest of us move on? He apologized to the president. Does he have to issue 25 more apologies before folks will leave him alone?

Compare that to what Sanford said last month in a press conference after Lieutenant Governor Andre Bauer called for him to resign:

And in the wake of [my admission of an affair], y'all in the media, pundits, every body else analyzed it, dissected it, focused on it, reported on it, analyzed it, reported on it, focused on it some more, analyzed it, focused on it, reported on it some more and then analyzed it, focused on it and reported on it some more and then more and in that process South Carolinians moved on.

In fact, Sanford pretty much acknowledged the similarities to CN2 News:

Having seen some of this process a little up close and personal, my thought is it's time to move on.

As crazy as that is, it is not as crazy as Congressman Franks subtly blaming Wilson's outburst on Obama. Check out this clip.

I guess social outcasts need to support each other. Otherwise they have no one, which is what their behavior deserves.

Sanford is probably as good as Joe Wilson will get. Neither is worth much.

Gee, I seem to remember that Bill Clinton could not apologize enough for the Republicans. It was that he wasn't sincere enough, or he apologized for one thing but not another, or that he didn't apologize to the right person, blah, blah, blah,....

After his statement Sanford asked Joe if He wanted to join him for a Spiritual revival meeting in Buenos Aires Argentina this weekend. Mark told Joe that he was sure he would get his spirits "Up" by attending the three maybe four or five day "Explosive Summit" depending on how the "Spirit" moved them. Mark told Joe it wouldn't be an in and out experience but rather a long slow deliberate process with lots of holy oil applied to sacred spots to help him over...come his anxiety and tension. Mark told Joe he would meet his true souls desire in a "Spiritual" sense of course.

Mr Sanford:

Who is asking Mr Wilson to offer "25 more apologies"?

Mr Wilson is a member of the House of Representatives. His actions showed disrespect to that body and its rules. He owes that body an apology. End of discussion.
