Chris Gaubatz, who went undercover as a Muslim to infiltrate the Council on American-Islamic Relations for a new book from WorldNetDaily, posed for a picture with Muslim Democratic Rep. André Carson (IN) while under guise as "CAIR intern" Dave Marshall.

The picture with Carson, who became the second Muslim member of Congress when he took office in 2008, was taken at the convention of the Islamic Society of North America in Ohio last year.

Gaubatz father's book, Muslim Mafia: Inside the Secret Underworld That's Conspiring to Islamize America, draws much of its material from documents taken by Chris during his time at CAIR. The book prompted four GOP lawmakers to accuse CAIR of infiltrating Capitol Hill using interns.

The picture of Gaubatz and Carson is featured in Muslim Mafia.

Carson's office did not immediately respond to two calls seeking comment.

Yeah, it's a real problem when people who get their pictures taken with thousands of peopple get ONE taken with someone the wingnuts don't like. How long have the wingnuts hidden the pictures of Bush with the wingnut lobbyist?

This says even more about the FBI's vetting of Congressional Aides that they didn't discover that this person was operating under an alias.

Then aagin, What is the difference between CAIR and AIPAC?

Actually, I don't think that Chris Gaubatz was ever a Congressional Aide, he was just an intern at CAIR.

I don't get what Gaubatz posing like a Muslim intern was supposed to prove. Was he on the lookout for actual Muslim intern spies? Or was the picture with the Congressman simply meant to show what a Muslim intern spy would look like? Did he find actual Muslim spies? And how did he know that they were spies---simply because they were Muslim interns from CAIR?

Finding Muslim representatives from CAIR on a "Council on American-Islamic Relations" is exactly what anyone would expect. That's the very purpose of CAIR---they want to help improve American-Islamic relations, and so naturally they want to be involved in the "Council on American-Islamic Relations." CAIR is exactly like the thousands of other organizations that exist to influence government policy, be it healthcare reform, environmental regulations, etc.

At least CAIR's motives are to help cultural understanding, and not simply to make money by affecting governmental policy.

But morons like Gaubatz will make up a bunch of innuendo with lots of shouts about Muslims and spies, and Fox will use it to spin a theme about Muslims taking over our government.

Council on
American
Islamic
Relations

... so is Worldnut Daily claiming that CAIR infiltrated CAIR or Congress or Spock's brain or ...what?
