John Sweeney may have to take the bus for the next year and a half.
The former New York GOP congressman has had his driver’s license suspended for refusing to take a sobriety test when police pulled him over for speeding in April and smelled alcohol on his breath.
Sweeney still faces a DWI trial for that incident. The boozy former lawmaker and Jack Abramoff crony already has one DWI conviction from 2007.
Sweeney lost his seat in Congress in 2006, amid charges that his wife had the previous year called 9-1-1 to report that Sweeney was “knocking her around the house.”
