Yesterday, the conservative author of the new book Muslim Mafia, the foreword of which was penned by Rep. Sue Myrick (R-NC), explicitly called for a "professional and legal backlash against the Muslim community and their leaders" in response to the Fort Hood shootings.
So last night, we called Myrick's office to see if she had a response to Dave Gaubatz's remarks, given that his book, with her foreword, was released just last month. Since then, Myrick and three other House Republicans have cited the book as the source of their calls for a probe of Muslim intern "spies" in Congress.
Here's Myrick's statement, which does not denounce, or even address, Gaubatz's call for a backlash:
While I will continue to challenge radical Islamists and point out their ties to terrorism, I have been and will continue to work with mainstream moderate Muslim leaders because the only way to stop radicalization, and prevent the spread of this radical ideology, is to support these Muslim leaders in engaging their own community.
Myrick is in fact partially echoing Gaubatz, who said yesterday: "If Muslims do not want a backlash, then I would recommend a 'house cleaning.'"
We followed up with Myrick's spokesperson this morning to ask again if the congresswoman has a response to Gaubatz, but haven't heard anything back.

Of course not. That would anger their "I'm afraid of anything not white and male" nutso backers.

And this surprises anybody? Remember how long PNAC lay in wait until everything was in place to invade Iraq. They got the neocon wingnuts in the Oval Office who ignored reports about planes being used as flying bombs, and then used 9/11 as an excuse to wage their jihad.
The religious wingnut right is following the same playbook. They are ratcheting up the anti-Muslim rhetoric every chance they get. They are praying (literally) for another major terrorist attack as an excuse to wage their own jihad.
The religious right is setting up for holy war, make no mistake about it.

Almost no acts of domestic terrorism are committed by Muslims. Save for Fort Hood.

What religion were the Dr. Killer in Kansas, McVeigh, Kreutner in 95, The Seattle Killer, The guy in Florida last week, and on and on !
Mental illness is evident in every religion as are radical beliefs..This man was mentally ill..not the same diagnosis as the Malkins, the senator, the Becks, the limpbows, the rep in the article but just as deadly! This is a witch hunt just like the ones in Salem, the KKK in the 60's and the slaughters of innocents in Germany!
Perpt by the same mentality...!
