The Washington Post's Dana Priest has obtained the slides of a June 2007 lecture given by Fort Hood shootings suspect Nidal Hasan when he was a psychiatric resident at Walter Reed.
The 50-slide PowerPoint, titled "The Koranic World View As It Relates to Muslims in the U.S. Military," was designed to describe "what the Koran inculcates in the minds of Muslims and the potential implications this may have for the U.S. military." Hasan's final recommendation was that Muslim soldiers should be eligible for conscientious objector status "to increase troop morale and decrease adverse events."
Other staffers who attended Hasan's talk were surprised at the topic, as the presentations were supposed to be about medical subjects.
The Post notes it's unclear whether anyone voiced concerns about the talk to authorities. Here's a taste of the lecture:
Under a slide titled "Comments," he wrote: "If Muslim groups can convince Muslims that they are fighting for God against injustices of the 'infidels'; ie: enemies of Islam, then Muslims can become a potent adversary ie: suicide bombing, etc." [sic]The last bullet point on that page reads simply: "We love death more then [sic] you love life!"

i guess if it doesn't have a smashed front, steam coming out the radiator, and oil leaking onto the ground, or flashing red and blue lights, we don't stop to gawk and make an assessment.

We have top level officials, politicians and even a general or two who believe we are leading a crusade in the Middle East. Not unrelated are those who see a nuclear war in the Middle East as a prophesy and a necessary condition for the Second Coming and Judgment Day and want to get it going, so they can be here when it happens. Need I mention the Zionist segment of the Israeli population and the ayatollahs in Iran? Our problem is religious zealots. It's perhaps useful if a large part of the population has its everyday behavior guided by a simple set of maxims on how to play nice and get along, but those who become rabid adherents to an ancient tribal cause are a real danger to the largest tribe we have, all of humanity.

i wonder if there was nuclear fallout all over israel and the occupied territories if there would still be the fighting over land. hypothetically speaking. no i dont advocate it, but it is interesting to think if people would still fight over wretched land that is hazardous to live in.

Probably. It would still be "the land God gave them"...They'd just have to make other plans for it. Or we'd start hearing them say "God will cleanse it once it belongs to it's rightful owners!"

You're to generous.
They would feel blessed to be able to live there.
The mutations would all be considered a part of God's grand evolutionary design.
The one outstanding trait about those who desire Armageddon is that they fear and dread the thought of death. They want the "second coming" to occur in their lifetimes so they never have to experience death.
Among early Christians, death was welcome since that meant that the soul went to heaven to be with Jesus and God. This was a desirable outcome and bolstered the faith and courage of early martyrs.
It is interesting that the only record of a time Jesus got violent was with the money changers in the temple. A group of people comparable to the current Wall Street executives.
What has happened to Christ's teachings in today's "Christianity"?
