Lawyer: Alleged Holocaust Shooter Dies In Prison

James Von Brunn, the elderly neo-Nazi who was charged with killing a guard at the U.S. Holocaust Museum last June, has died in prison, according to his lawyer. The news was first reported by the AP.

As you may remember, the elderly von Brunn was shot after he opened fire at the entrance to the Holocaust Museum in Washington, killing security guard Stephen Johns. Von Brunn was brought to the hospital in critical condition after reportedly being wounded in the face.

Though he was charged with murder in June, he didn’t appear publicly in court until September. At the time, the AP reported that his injuries “make it difficult for him to hear and talk” and that he could not walk, according to his attorney.

Here’s TPMmuckraker’s profile of von Brunn, outlining his neo-Nazi and racist views. We also collected the Internet writings posted under the name of James von Brunn here.

We’ll have more on this soon.
