An attorney for one of the four men charged in the Landrieu phone-tampering case tells the AP that he met with the U.S. Attorney’s office to try to come to a resolution out of court.
“We’re in discussions with the government, trying to resolve this matter as expeditiously as possible in a fair and just manner,” said Attorney Garrison Jordan, who represents Robert Flanagan.
Flanagan is the son of the acting U.S. Attorney for western Louisiana.
The three other defendants, including filmmaker James O’Keefe, are not represented by Jordan. O’Keefe said earlier this week that he had no complaints about how prosecutors were handling the case.
All four defendants today waived their right to a preliminary hearing, which was scheduled for tomorrow in New Orleans.
