Blackwater CEO Shopping Book and Movie Script; Says Obama Administration Approved Operations

Hollywood, get ready. Erik Prince — the chairman of the controversial private security firm formerly known as Blackwater — is shopping a memoir and has worked on a script that would provide enough material for several movies The Washington Post’s Spy Talk Blog reported Friday.

Prince, sources told the newspaper, will claim in the book that Democratic officials in both the Clinton and Obama administrations approved of the most sensitive and controversial operations his company performed on behalf of the CIA and other government agencies.

The company is now known as XE Services, and Prince recently moved to the United Arab Emirates. The company has reportedly created 31 shell companies in order to continue operating without revealing its name, and agreed to pay $42 million to settle hundreds of violations of U.S. export control violations.

“He’s going to drop the names of people who, before, were saying, ‘Yeah, go kill Osama Bin Laden’ and stuff like that, but went sideways on him when the investigations began,” one of the sources told The Post.

A different source told the newspaper that he doubted the manuscript had been finished, and that Prince had only shown small parts of it to prospective publishers.
