Democratic candidate for New York State Senate David Mejias was supposed to attend a “Women For Mejias” press conference today, but then he got arrested for stalking, menacing, and reckless endangerment, following an incident with his ex-girlfriend.
As we reported, Mejias was charged yesterday after following his ex in his car, then approaching her vehicle and yelling at her.
The event today was scheduled with “members of NARAL Pro-Choice New York and Planned Parenthood of Nassau County,” according to City Hall News blog.
The Mejias campaign canceled the event yesterday, without explanation. Neither group says it has plans to reschedule.
