Members of the hate group known as the Westboro Baptists Church, infamous for their inflammatory anti-gay protests celebrating the deaths of American soldiers, plan to show up to the funerals of those killed in the Tucson, AZ shootings which killed six and severely injured Rep. Gabby Giffords (D-AZ).
“However many are dead, Westboro Baptists will picket their funerals,” Fred Phelps said in a video posted on the group’s website. Phelps calls Giffords “an avid supporter of sin and baby killing,” and said she was shot for that “mischief.”
Phelps also said that “mouthy witch Sarah Palin” is a “cowardly brute” for taking down the crosshairs image that targeted the district of Giffords and 19 other members of Congress.
“The crosshairs to worry about are God’s, and he’s put you in his,” Phelps says in the video. Phelps said the Westboro Baptists pray for more shooters.
The Westboro Baptists even railed against the young nine-year-old girl who showed up to the Giffords event to learn more about her government.
“That child was not innocent,” the group said in a press release. “This is a nation of depraved perverts who pass their children through the fire of their rage against God & all-consuming lust. From the womb, she was taught to hate God & mock His servants. That child is better off dead, so the cup of her iniquity will not overflow!”
