NBC Universal is renewing Donald Trump’s contract to host “The Celebrity Apprentice” for two years, and giving Trump and his co-producer Mark Burnett a big raise, according to The New York Post.
The deal will apparently net Burnett and Trump a total of around $160 million, and Trump will personally take in $65 million a year.
“They stepped up,” a source close to the show told the Post. “It was an increase over last season.”
If the figures are accurate, Trump will become the highest paid reality star on television.
Trump announced on May 16 that he was not running for President, after weeks of speculation, big talk and media attention. A week later, he hinted that he was having second thoughts, but the new NBC deal appears to finally put the issue to rest.
“The Celebrity Apprentice” will return to the air in March.
