MUGSHOT: Manssor Arbabsiar, Arrested In Plot To Kill Saudi Ambassador

TPM has obtained the mugshot the U.S. Marshal’s Service took of Manssor Arbabsiar, the Iranian-American car dealer from Texas accused of trying to hire a man he thought was affiliated with a Mexican drug cartel to assassinate the Saudi ambassador to the United States.

The mugshot, obtained through a FOIA request, is the most recent photo available of Arbabsiar. A mugshot circulated after his October arrest was from an unrelated arrest in 2001.

Iran has denied playing a role in the alleged scheme and is seeking an apology from the U.S.

Arbabsiar cooperated with FBI officials but has pleaded not guilty to five charges related to the plot, including conspiracy to murder a foreign official as well as a conspiracy to use a weapon of mass destruction.
